She's influenced a slew of contemporary musicians and artists, in ways that no other artist of the new millennium has. She's solidified this. She could never again have a top 10 hit in the United States, and still be an icon. It isn't even debatable - it has nothing to do with being "on top", she has land up there honey. She wants to expand artistically. I feel like her best album is yet to come, and that's exciting! Imagine being a fan of an artist who pumps out the same boring s*** every couple years just to get streams. No thanks, I'll stick with my girl, radio play or not. Number ones and dominating every chart under the sun is fleeting and ultimately superficial, Mariah Carey had all that and is she up there with Bowie and the Beatles and ****? Not the bore worms!
