Why Does Gaga Feel So Far Removed From Her Contemporaries?

I know people on here will just say that she's in a level above people like the Weeknd and Ariana Grande, and I'm inclined to believe them, but at the same time not feeling like she's apart of the current pop music climate is so problematic. Today you need to do features, you need to stage publicity stunts with celebs like Selena with the Weeknd and Taylor's Hiddleston stunt, or the J.Lo/Drake fake relationship. Gaga just doesn't feel like she is apart of music anymore. I can't see her being friends with Rihanna like Katy and dating Orlando Bloom. Drake, Nicki and Rihanna have all collabed so their fanbases experience cross pollination, and get inflated. What went wrong?

All that publicity blah blah on promo shows only marks the world of pop culture briefly. What Gaga is doing will make a lasting impact and put her down in history: focusing on the music, forging her own path, expanding her skills, and touching new souls with each era!

Because she's Lady Gaga and does whatever the f*ck she wants lmao, she's never desired to be "up there" with all the other fake pop divas.. she's the most authentic artist we'll ever be graced enough to get.

She seems removed from the music circles because she doesn't belong to that circle. That's not her world because they're not like her, and obviously you hang out with people who are like you. These people are not like her because they don't have the same ideas or principles that she has. And that's because they're not artists like Gaga is. Gaga is more at ease hanging out with people like Marina Abramovic, Robert Wilson or Elton John. That's where she belongs.

Everything is good, nothing went wrong. She just already passed this field. :whitney:

Because she's in a class all her own. She doesn't need to be like the people you mentioned. To me, she's not a pop artist, she's an artist, period. She's multidimensional unlike many of her contemporaries. She can do any genre successfully, she takes risks and most of all, she has artistic integrity.

I do feel the same, like she's not part of the mainstream 'pop culture' anymore. But at the same time, artists like Adele, are they really part of that culture?

Because she wants to be an actress. She's not into the music scene anymore, that's pretty obvious from the way she's been handling Joanne.

You just basically said that she has to be fake in order to be loved by people. What kind of life is that supposed to be???

I'd like to think that she's going to be remembered as a music icon when all of us are older decades from now.
