It even won a poll against Joanne, and came in close second to BTW. I don't get it. When Beyoncé dropped a surpise visual album I was told Beyoncé was what ARTPOP should've been. Thread after thread compared the two unfavorably. When Marina released FROOT suddenly that's what ARTPOP should'be been and the Diamonds on here told me that I was biased for liking ARTPOP more? Explain your hypocrisy Gagadaily. i think maybe the ARTPOP haters are gone now so basically, we the ARTPOP army won plus only legends stayed trough all eras 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮 • 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗲 • 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲-𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿 • 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻

dopega 3,732
When I saw the G.U.Y video I have always admired her work but I wasn't a stan at the time so I didn't even know she had released a new album I didn't have a GGD account back then so I didn't know that it flopped. I always though it was one of her most successful albums. I was SHOOK when I joined this cult site in january 2016 and everyone called it a flop
Matangi 3,050
its because her work is steadily declining, imo. each consecutive release enhances the previous one

I think the dust has cleared and people now have had time to appreciate the album and the commercial success that actually came out of ARTPOP but people were too busy fighting to see at the time This. People got too distracted by all the other mess surrounding it to appreciate on its own terms, not to mention comparing it to other albums, and all the expectations they had in their own mind of what it was going to be. I remember some music critic saying that someday, maybe 50 years from now, AP might be unearthed and loved by hipsters. I'm here for AP becoming a cult classic.
