Yuuri 21,636
This is not just coming from a Lady Gaga fan perspective, but an actual music, and English/writing persective. First of all, "Bad Romance" is an earworm, and the difinition of an earworm is "a catchy song or tune that runs continually through a person's mind." And what makes "Bad Romance" a earworm is it's multiple hooks: "Oh-oh-oh-oh-oooh Oh-oh-oh-oh-oooh, oh-oh-oh Caught in a bad romance Rah, rah-ah-ah-ah Roma, roma-ma Gaga, ooh-la-la Want your bad romance" Seems pretty catchy, right? Well throughout the song, Gaga sings the "hook" multiple times, between verses and on top of that it's followed straight after another type of hook, the chorus: "I want your love, and I want your revenge You and me could write a bad romance I want your love and all your lover's revenge You and me could write a bad romance" And Gaga isn't finished yet, just as you're going to tune away(for whatever reason), she changes it up with the bridge: "Walk, walk, fashion baby Work it, move that bitch crazy Walk, walk, fashion baby Work it, move that bitch crazy Walk, walk, fashion baby Work it, move that bitch crazy Walk, walk, passion baby Work it, I'm a free bitch, baby I want your love, and I want your revenge I want your love, I don't wanna be friends" She even changes up the words to French, the language of love. And what makes "Bad Romance" truely and earworm is it's lack of an end. You see to make a song disappear from your head you must remember how it ends. And in the case with BR is that it begins and same way it ends: "Oh-oh-oh-oh-oooh Oh-oh-oh-oh-oooh, oh-oh-oh Caught in a bad romance Rah, rah-ah-ah-ah Roma, roma-ma Gaga, ooh-la-la Want your bad romance" Thus making the song repeat in your head. So behind the catchy, simple lyrics is a song that is built to be stuck in your head. But you all knew this anyway.

LePetitGAGABLover 21,234
tbh when this song was at its peak (2010), I had to google the lyrics for the chorus. I always thought the she was singing in another language or something.

hELXIG 42,954
This song really is a masterpiece. Don't forget that ra-ra and roma-roma-ma is a fragmented beginnning of "romance". Like someone who is trying to get the word out. R-r-roma-romance. And oo-la-la is obviously flirty lol. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. CannaeDrive 3,412
I mean, when BR comes on the radio, you cannot NOT hear it, it takes all the place, overwhelming every other sound in the space where you stand and contrasting without any doubt with the white noise that comes off the radio at any other time.
