It was made to promote the song, not to actually help people decipher the lyrics. It's a pop song, not the dead sea scrolls. The video is about style not about practicality. Complaining that the typography was difficult to read is like complaining about how difficult it is to sit on a lazy boy that is floating in a sea of satin.
