GAGA - DWYW (AFTER APPLAUSE)

Ok I agree with you but saying DWUW was released as a single for Gaga to make a sexy video... We all know what DWUW talks about and that it's aimed at her haters and the press. Don't even compare DWUW meaningful lyrics to BA's stupid sex verses. I like BA tho, no hate.

I wonder if Kardashians will be included in video, remember she tagged all of them on her recent photo (possibly MV shoot photo)

Katy Perrier, who is known for never being extremely sexy or sexual like Britney, Madonna, Gaga etc...  never showing too much skin, being raunchy or things like that

Now apparently there's rumors of Katy saying the n word pretty frequently, AND she made a joke about Barack Obama. (It wasn't meant to be offensive, but it was.) This is also after she's gotten flack for a joke she made about Britney shaving her head at the Grammys.

Some are saying this is her ARTPOP...but it seems more like this is her Blackout. She's getting all the wrong type of press, but the music is still decent. (ARTPOP was a great album, not just decent, and Gaga did a lot of press for it.)

I think Katy will need a much bigger career overhaul than Gaga. ...bitch better not try to start singing with Tony....

Those rumors are from 2015

Well it does. Music doesn't sell the way it used to as well, so I don't really know what you're trying to say, again.

Being sexy is not controversial anymore.

Madonna's "Erotica" was something controversial because it was hidden from people in her time. Nowadays to be a little bit controversial you probably will need to do something about gays or religion bashing, but even that is not a big deal anymore.

Born To Slay

A couple of notes for the Britney examples.

1. MATM was not a flop. It did very well WW, only in America was in unsuccessful. The Toxic video had nothing to do with MATM.

2. Slumber Party is similiar to other Britney videos that followed successful hits. For example Work Bitch was just as racy and sexual and followed after Scream And Shout.

Britney didn't do it to regain relevance, she did because she likes it.

Im sure when they thought about the milk licking scene they were like "OMG this is going to be so shocking, everybody is going to talk about it baby girl, yesss do it do it"

But in Britney's defense, she scrapped the whole Make me original video so...

I can only imagine how this video is going to be. I don't think it'll be Nicki Minaj Anaconda level and I doubt she'll do partial nudity but you never know. It's the accusations of cultural appropriation that are going to be the concern because she was apparently wearing blonde braids in an early promo picture and she's with three black rappers, so I have no doubts that she's going to do something based on urban videos, but with the Katy Perry treatment. This video could become her most disliked ever but if not, certainly within the top 5. Dark Horse is the most disliked, about 740k and the public obviously loved that song. So, how will they react to a song they don't like with a sexual video? I don't know, but I'm grabbing popcorn.

I assume so, since the song is about eating p***y.

That's just one line. The rest of it is all about a man having his way with her anyway he likes. Migos's raps make that clear "open her legs and then divide, I make her do a doughnut when she ride." The song is 98% female serving sex, 2% female actually being pleasured.

Whether you are purposely trying to be misogynistic or not, it's still a pretty sexist belief to have. I'm not trying to call you misogynistic or anything since a lot of these backwards thinking ideas are spoon fed to us our whole lives and we don't really have perception that what we're saying or thinking is backwards.

The idea of anybody expressing sexuality for "desperation of attention" is pretty yikes, as our society and culture encourages us to view sexuality as something "taboo" or "bad"

Point is though that male and female pop stars should both be able to express sexuality, and singling female pop stars out for it is a bit sexist, but the whole idea of rejecting sexuality is a bit of a toxic mindset to have :lolly:

I'm a female feminist who is supportive of sex but I really dislike the concept of women being sexual for attention/male approval. There's no strength in that and giving men what they want is not a feminist statement. So many women make themselves sexual even when they don't want to be or turn to the sex industry as a career, making money of their degradation. It's not healthy and it's sad that so many women in this day and age not only think being publicly overtly sexual is a positive thing but go one step further by claiming it's a feminist thing that improves women's position in society. This is nonsense. Men are just salivating over the naked women and laugh at those who they think are stupid enough to fall for the 'doing it in the name of feminism' thing. I can't think why being reduced to a sex object in front of strangers could possibly give someone confidence or make their gender look good. Why can't so many feminists see that we're just subscribing to the script and giving men what they want? Don't they not think that by saving their sexual side for men who love and respect them, it would teach men that they have to work for a woman's affections and the right to see her body?

And when this concept of 'our culture encourages us to be conservative and cover ourselves' always baffles me because it's always people from the Western world saying this. Unless you're living in the middle eat, this concept makes no sense? Where are you living in the Western world that encourages women to be non-sexual and cover themselves? Everywhere you look in Western society, the message of 'be sexual, that's what you're supposed to be' is boomed out at us from film, music, billboards, etc. This is why there is such disagreements over foreign culture because they're shocked by how sexual we're allowed to be in the Western world. Sure, your parents might not encourage you to be sexual but society in general? As a woman, it's been encouraging me to be sexual since I was a kid. I mean, my sexual urges started around the age of seven. And it only becomes worse with time because you're then told that men won't want you if you aren't sexy, that you'll be boring and weird if you're not sexy, that you need to have sex to mark yourself as an adult, that having sex makes you cool, that having sex makes you happy. That college guy who shot those random people around his campus did so because he was annoyed because he was still a virgin and no girls were interested. That is how sexualised society is and how extreme those urges can go.

You do not need to reject sexuality but I think we should rein it in. I wish females would be sexual in the way that men are. Men have certain boundaries that they don't cross because they want to keep their dignity and can't stand the thought of degrading themselves for everyone to see. My mantra is "if a man wouldn't do it, I'm not doing it either."
