Beautiful Scars for instance... YES, I'd never forgive Madonna for messing up with Living For Love, the demo had such a true and amazing feeling to the 90s and it turned into an average EDM track

I'll give you that, they could have easily replaced some of the tracks on the standard version... Addicted too - probably my favourite alongside Devil Pray... On a slightly unrelated note, am I the only one who thinks some of the leaked demos sounded better than the finished songs? Beautiful Scars for instance... Word!!! The majority feel the demos are better than the album. I think the album is fine but Beautiful Scars was perfect in demo form. Also taking the urgency out of Illuminati nearly killed the song. Edit: It's Bedtime Stories for me guys. Time for sleep. 😴😴. This has been a blast and I'll be back! 😘😘🍭🍭🍭🍭 The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw

The fact that they were on the "Super Deluxe Edition" kind of proves my argument that perhaps the label threw those songs in there to keep M happy and make her feel like she was making the decisions. Oh, ok, that's considerably more depressing... We got to hear them in the end though - that's something... As to wether she should establish her own label, I always think artists should have creative freedom and not deal with input from people whose sole motivation is commercial performance, so... yes, she definitely should... I'd definitely be there to see/hear what she makes if she's given full control over what she makes and whom she works with... It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke! Edge Of Venus 731
Madonna's "problem" nowadays is that she has TOO MUCH control on her releases. Yes she's been the boss since day one but Warner was always guiding/forcing her choices when it came to music. Messy bitch wanted Candy Shop as the first single, Warner said HELL NO and released 4 Minutes, which ended up being her last smash hit. She also wanted I Love New York as the second single of COADF but Warner pushed for Sorry (which she thought was a retarded song). If she was still with Warner I'm 100% sure that they would've made her release the Avicii demo of Rebel Heart instead of that clunky final mix of LFL. Edge Of Venus 731
It's also funny how everyone calls Rebel Heart a big flop when it still sold almost 1M copies WW in 2015. She has outlasted Mariah, Janet, Xtina, Britney and every girl pre-00s except Celine. Most people here don't understand how insane her longevity was. She debuted in the early 80s and was collecting hits after hits up until the 10's. How the hell was that possible?
yes and 4,884
What nonsense. It doesn't make any sense. EVERY record label wants money and no matter how they'll get it, they won't screw over artists if they are still relevant. Your opinion is wrong. Did you think I'd show up in a limousine? No

Dominic 11,922
I don't think so, she's Madonna. She just seems to be chasing trends rather than setting them these days. Saying that I only like her latest album. Never really been a huge fan of her voice. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

Living for Love makes sense as a lead... Avicci and Diplo are hot producers, if they didn't want her to have success then those guys could be working with people more trendy. I think the problem Madonna faces is ageism and radio not playing her songs because of her age. The real problem for the last decade is not so much radio won't play her music- more that she's trying to kid everyone she's still 25 not 58- and pitching the "music" at that group- which leads to turds like Bitch I'm Madonna, endless rent-a-rappers etc. The last decade has alienated her fanbase- Madonnalicious used to be really active forum- when the demos of Wash all over me and Rebel Heart leaked the place was buzzing- that vanished the minute the Bitch songs appeared as people realised it was another Hard Candy. Now it's one person posting about charts and sales. If Madonna would do COADF 2 then she'd have no problem getting on the radio The unreleased tracks from the last 10 years are actually better than pretty much everything she's released during this period- Madonna makes all the decisions though. She needs someone who will say no to her and exercise some quality control otherwise we'll get more crap like Sex, Holy Water etc

Ray of Light and Music revived it and made it seem like she'd made the transition to adult pop star. Then she went and screwed it up with the terrible American Life and it's never been the same since. She lost her nerve, put on the pink leotard and ran back to the gays with Hung Up. Not a bad thing but it limited her audience going forward. I gave up on being excited by her albums a decade ago. So when people say "oh she's been around for over 30 years" I always think "yeah and she sucked for half of that". Her 80s stuff is gold though. SEANGT 5,252
I'm gonna say music executives don't hate money, no. lol. This is ridiculous. I was all ready to agree with you thinking this would be about how they don't believe in her because of her age and don't promote her new music as much, but they aren't putting out her worst songs on purpose. The real issue isn't even the label, it's everyone involved. radio stations, listeners, everyone is closed-minded with her.
Dorothy Gale 7,575
I don't think so. I think she wants to try and recapture the youth market instead of making music that her core fanbase would like. Ghosttown was a good indicator of where she could take her sound, that could actually be played on the radio, and would appeal to a wider demographic than Girl Gone Wild or Give Me All Ur Luv. I love Madonna, but I feel like artistically peaked in the late 90s.
elijahfan 26,037
There's no point in being signed to a record label if they don't want the artist to be successful..... it's ridiculous to think otherwise.
