Madonna is not really a singer, she's an icon, and I don't believe she can do iconic things by appealing to certain audiences and trying to be commercially successful. I'll give you that, they could have easily replaced some of the tracks on the standard version... Addicted too - probably my favourite alongside Devil Pray... I agree, the demos were much more experimental and raw sounding. The fact that they were on the "Super Deluxe Edition" kind of proves my argument that perhaps the label threw those songs in there to keep M happy and make her feel like she was making the decisions. Not only women's sexuality but individual sexuality. Also asking the question of should there be any boundary within Love, what's the difference between loving a partner and loving God? All of that and more have been her message this entire time and it's fascinating. She has opened the doors and been a near one woman liberation movement.
