I never understood the media slant against ARTPOP and I don't understand the backlash against this era for Katy, either. To be honest, I've NEVER been a Katy fan, but CTTR is brilliant -- her best song, really, and BA is a bop.

Katy tried to defuse the feud perpetrated by the media by saying there was no fighting on a radio show. And all Katy has done is speak nicely of Gaga while the latter writes shady tweets about art theft. The media's treatment of Gaga compared to Katy does not validate or moralize Gaga fans having a horrible attitude towards Katy. You're just trying to excuse your hatred of Katy because you're jealous of her success compared to Gaga's and want her to fail. You know damn well you wouldn't say one negative thing about Britney if she had another breakdown, even though she's mentioned Gaga less than Katy.

Hm I'm more concerned that she's crying in social media, when the internet is already so hateful towards her. Wouldn't she get better comfort if she spoke with loved ones rather than risking herself being bullied?

Either way, hope she's feel better soon. All artists have highs and lows in their careers, and hopefully she'll get out of this funk.

The fact she's putting this out there is like a cry for help. She seems to be in a weird place right now. The constantly changing hairstyles seem to just be the beginning. I think she's really struggling with her breakup and how her music is underperforming so far and isn't getting the most amazing reception. As much as I have my issues with her, if she really is struggling emotionally, I do have basic human compassion even so. Katy has said before how she wants big success, she made that very clear in the Forbes interview. So, if she underperforms, it's going to crush her. We have to remember that she's never experienced an underperforming moment so early into an era. Prism was already huge when its singles started flopping, so it cushioned the blow. But she's never suffered this kinda backlash before. In fact, she doesn't know what it's like to experience a lead single that failed to reach #1, like CTTR did. When all you've known is success up until a low point, it stands to reason that you might struggle to deal with it when it does happen. Mariah had her meltdown when she experienced her first flop album because she didn't know how to deal with bad sales and bad reception. If it can happen to legends, it can happen to anyone.

I think the fact that Katy used under-hand tactics to succeed over Gaga during the Prism vs. AP era is what turned a lot of people against her. I know that's the case for me. Yeah, I was always fairly bitter because she had success where Gaga couldn't but she was always a guilty pleasure for me simultaneously and I even own the TD album. But with Prism, it became a different ball game and it put me off her. But if she really is going through problems, that changes things in my perception of her as a person anyway.

It was in most countries but in the U.K. A huge radio station refused to play it because they were butt hurt about her not making last Friday night the single first and it prevented it from reaching number 1 in the U.K. and she got really upset. It was all shown in her Part of Me documentary

No matter what her vocation, I don't think anyone else should be doing any of this anyway. 

Don't think that just because you're versed in how pop culture works, believe yourself automatically in the know; knowledge of something or information never fully equates the actual experience of it. We can try to understand, but we'll never really know exactly how it feels. I digress, you giving her actual options isn't really going to do anything (though having options are nice) but if your answer is in a way to provide comfort then I understand. Still, everyone deserves to work in their own pace, and providing pre exits for her doesnt really help. 

I'm pretty sure the forum and the internet has probs churned this into much bigger than it should've been, my point was just don't forget that even though you find her to not be the best person, that she's still a person. And maybe that because she's a person, you'll understand that there are bad days from the good, because you've had that as a person. Nd bc you actually know how that feels, that you'd be reluctant to hurl insults bc you yourself would never want to b placed in that position (which in her case is magnified).

You are very well organized in the way you present yourself verbally and perhaps you'll utilize that for good in the future.  However, you have not made me any more interested in a topic I responded to with my opinion of hours and hours ago.  Carry on with those still invested as I'm not.  Thank you.
