But this is the charts thread, and people here base their judgment on the metrics that go into chart performance. For an artist that typically has the success of Katy, BA is doing comparatively less well. 

I don't disagree with that but to call it the worst flop ever and laugh about it seems a bit dramatic. Especially when we all know that Gaga's lead singles have been pulling less and less sales with every release since 2011.

Conspiracy: Katy released BA to make everyone realize maybe CTTR isn't so bad compared to it.

Perfect Illusion was alright, but not a good comeback single in retrospect, hence its bombing performance WW. Definitely her weakest lead single to date. But MR was a hit and more than made up for that misfire.

Im not saying it was a bad song, but it was a bad single choice.

Yup, ignore the sales decline industry wide since 2011 as well. Keep piling on the facts you're failing to acknowledge.

Of course she's not even 1/10 of an artist, songwriter, performer (really anything) that Gaga is and will never be, but that doesn't change the fact that most of you pretend to hate BA because it's Katy, same way you pretend to like TC because it's Gaga.

Lol i don't think this is true.. like at all. The Cure is the most well received Gaga song since Applause by monsters AND the GP because it's actually catchy. It's a fun song to bop to and that gets quickly addictive. Not to mention, I think most people here have listened to the cure more than 50 times easily (unlike joanne)

Deffo. Even after hearing Perfect Illusion for the first time, I was personally HYPED because I loved the song a lot instantly - and still do. But it made no sense commercially.

I find BA quite catchy and well produced but the lyrics are really bad objectively speaking. I do think her 2 songs are amongst the most interesting pop songs released this year, but far from the best. I don't pretend to hate BA, i was incredibly hyped before the release because the snippet sounded amazing when i thought it was the prechorus to an even better chorus. It's just an underwhelming song, no matter how catchy and cute it is of a bop.
