The Trump administration has finally outlined its new tax proposal, which leans heavily on tax cuts.

So far, President Trump wants to slash individual tax rates -- cutting the top rate from 39.6% to 35% -- and reduce the number of total rates from seven to three. He also wants to cut the top tax rate for all businesses to 15%, far below the current top rates.

- 3 Rates: 35%, 25%, 10%

-Corporate Tax Rate: 15% (Was 35% since 1988)

-Eliminating taxes on the first $24,000 of a couple's income

-The estate tax and alternative minimum tax would also be eliminated, along with a 3.8 percent investment tax imposed under the Affordable Care Act

-Homeownership, charitable giving and retirement savings will be protected, but other tax benefits will be eliminated

More details in the link above.

It'll basically mean it'll be the average everyday working man that's footing the bill for public services more with their taxes (coming out of a smaller wage) as opposed to companies that make billions contributing to society

I hope this works.  I wonder what my taxes will be.  Probably the same since I'm not a corporation.

Unfortunately, it is very hard to cut taxes when a country is in debt and spends so much money. Ultimately, if this bill is passed and a bunch of programs don't get eliminated, we will go majorly in debt. The good news is that small businesses will get taxes cut, bad news is that big corporations will as well. Also on a couples first $24,000, they won't get taxed, problem is, we need taxes to pay for things!  And many tax benefits will be eliminated as well. The Estate Tax will also get eliminated, which means if you inherit tons of money, it won't get taxed. It sounds like debt to me....

We are already bankrupt basically:toofunny: We are $20 Trillion in debt and a lot of the money the government gets goes to repaying foreign nations interest on the debt we already owe. The last thing we need is big corporations to get huge tax breaks as well as rich people, they already use a bunch of loopholes which I hope Trump eliminates. This plan could severely back fire, but without eliminating loopholes and fixing other errors, it won't get passed.

Time to increase the deficit

How come none of the lib's mentioned the deficit problem under Obama?

Basically it's going to even the tax burden so that companies a d people who have huge loopoles can't get out of paying any more....

I think 15% is negotiable tho, and will likely need to be increased to get a better balance with the budget....

Other points are the need to cut gov. spending to eas the burden and help US business compete better, 39% is choking the economic growth imo.

As much as I hate paying taxes... yikes. This pretty much just sealed his second term because the damaging effects this will cause won't come into play quickly enough

The U.S. government spends/wastes more money on education than any other country except Luxembourg (I think) and yet we are something like number 17 in world ranking.  Throwing money at education doesn't work.  My college tuition was only $2200 a semester in NYC and I got a great education due to my own hard work.

As for health care, we also outspend there too.  What we need are reforms in systems, not more money.

What America has now is not sustainable so it's worth a shot.  As someone above said - we are already bankrupt.  We've been stuck at about 1.5% (and less) growth for a decade now.  The debt keeps piling up.  I'm not against corporate tax cuts because American companies pay very high taxes - 39% - compared to similarly developed countries like the U.K. which has a corporate rate of 20%.  Don't forget that "corporate tax rate" applies to most small businesses too.  We all work for someone so if it helps a company hire more and pay more, I'm all for it.  We need more growth, not more taxes.
