Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning for the follow-up, which will be directed by J.A. Bayona.

Jeff Goldblum is returning to the land of dinosaurs.

The actor, who co-starred in 1993's Jurassic Park and 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park, will appear in Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s next Jurassic World film.

J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) is directing the next installment in the studio's hit franchise. Jurassic World earned $1.67 billion worldwide in 2015 and is the fourth-highest-grossing film in history.

Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning for the sequel, which also stars Justice Smith, James Cromwell and Toby Jones. Colin Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World, wrote the script for the follow-up with Derek Connolly. The film is slated for release on June 22, 2018.

Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again join executive producers Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow in the next chapter of the franchise. Belén Atienza is also producing. Universal vp production Sara Scott is overseeing production on behalf of the studio.

Goldblum will reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm, the know-it-all mathematician who came to the park as an insurance consultant — and somehow survived both the original film and the sequel.

Goldblum will next be seen in Disney and Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok, set to hit theaters Nov. 3. His other recent credits include Independence Day: Resurgence and The Grand Budapest Hotel. He also is reuniting with director Wes Anderson on the upcoming film Isle of Dogs.

Goldblum is repped by ICM, Industry Entertainment and Hansen, Jacobson.

But I'm wondering how they're gonna get him to be involved with dinosaurs for a third time  He only went to the island in the second movie to save his girlfriend.

Do you feel him sir?

Apparently next movie is setting in the mainland so I guess it's very easiy to to bring him back this time

Goldblum makes anything he is in better, now we just need Sam Neil.

Laura Dern said she talked to the producers to be involved in the last movie, so I guess Sam Neil, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern could all be back for JP6

Having Jeff for next movie is already an amazing news !

I want Laura Dern!

She recently said she's keen on returning for the last movie and she made the producers know about it, so I'd say anything is possible ^^

If you want my opinion I think all three main characters will be back for the last movie

I'm looking forward Ian Malcolm interacting with Owen Grady (Chris Pratt)

Yeah, and it also was hinted that this movie would have stronger connections to the original (as in Jurassic Park) than people might expect, so I'm guessing Goldblum is a big part of that. Hopefully Neil and Dern join too but as you said Goldblum is already confirmed so that's good enough.

Yeah and we still have Henry Wu (BD Wong) involved, which means one more connection ^^

Jurassic World couldn't hold a candle to the Jurassic Park, so this movie better out-do its predecessor. Having said that, J.A. Bayona is a good director so I think it's ok to stack a decent chunk of hopes on this movie. The Orphanage was amazing and The Impossible didn't fall far away either - he has consistently made good movies.

Also OMG I LOVE Laura Dern - if she gets involved, that will be awesome!

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!
