What was Your First Impression of Lady Gaga?

I used to be a closeted boy with internalized homophobia, so...

"Lady Gaga is this weird manly woman, I mean Lady, who is also really provocative and sings in a robotic manly voice (p-p-p-Poker face)."

I was slightly offput by her but realized she was a pop sensation. Didn't care about her. I'm also from India, so her p-p-p-Poker face impact was really highly international even in non-Anglo countries, but this allowed me to stay relatively sheltered from her impact. I only really found her with Til It Happens To You and then Born This Way as I was coming out. Then I discovered the gems that are The Fame and Monster. And then the diamond ARTPOP.

figured she was all flash and not much substance.  It wasn't until I saw the live performance of Speechless on Ellen when I got interested enough to dig in deeper.

When I first read her name in some magazine talking about Just Dance, I thought she was some kind of boring techno DJ, and didn't give her the time of the day. But then I heard Love Game, watched the video, and then Paparazzi ... but she made me all hers when she dropped Bad Romance music video, I believe that was the video I played and replayed the most in my entire life. Then Telephone came out with those visuals and outstanding video, and I knew then I have taste in music.

I thought Just Dance was complete trash  a song with no meaning and made just to be number 1

When I first heard Poker Face, I saw the video too. I had no idea she was the same artist and my first thought of it was, "oh great another pop star with short blonde hair :green:

But then she scene where she starts singing and her hair is long came on and I was SHOOK  fell in love with the song and the artist.

Eventually I bought the album and freaked tf out when I saw Just Dance was on it. Now I bop to both and love them

Another blond bitch that wants to be the queen.

But then i saw her performing Poker Face at the Cherrytree House and it turned my mind. I fell in love and I saw myself reflected on her and that hair bow. And here I am 8 years later.

¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

I was always a major rap fan back in the day and sort of liked pop music. I heard Just Dance on the radio and looked up the music video and ended up finding Paper Gangsta and was immediately in love since it had that urban feel. Then I fell in love with her persona and energy and it really did something for me. Once I get attached, I'll never leave. I knew she was different and it just worked for me. Now as I've become an adult with a child, I want for my child the qualities that Gaga possesses to be instilled in her.

Jesus the picture quality of this looks like it was recorded in the 90's, how did we ever think non-HD was ever acceptable?

I remember the first time I heard her my sister played Just Dance on her phone and I made her send it to me. Funnily enough I didn't hear Poker Face until it was on the tail end of its peak bc I refused to listen to it because I didn't think she could make a song better than Just Dance and was annoyed at how many people liked it and were listening to it (how wrong was I ). So yeah I eventually heard Poker Face and the rest is history

I was at primary school & we were doing homework. During us working, someone was allowed to put on a song on YouTube. Some girl from my class chose Poker Face & I fell instantly in love with Gaga.

But I really became a little monster when MTV premiered the music video for Bad Romance. :staymad:

I was watching Xtina's new "Keeps Gettin' Better" video and people in the comments were saying she was copying Lady Gaga. I thought "What kind of name is Lady Gaga? I'm gonna look her up." I found the Just Dance video on Youtube and fell in love immediately. The rest is history.
