No that doesn't work.  You can go to jail for a Facebook post in the UK.  I don't want to live in that kind of society.  That's fake freedom.

For what kind of Facebook post? You dont get wheeled off to jail for having a political opinion. Your speech is limited in the UK only on the grounds of hateful discrimination, why are those rights you'd like to protect exactly? What good is the right to be hateful to people I really don't get it.

I'll tell you a little secret:

Some Americans (mostly white) would love for the good old racist days to come back to have absolute power.

Pay attention to how they phrase things.

The new racism and xenophobia is disguised by "national security" and "speaking out for the forgotten man and woman"

Because it depends on who is in power doesn't it?  That power shouldn't lie with the government.  Legitimate complaints can be dismissed as "hate" and people are silenced.  If an idea is good or bad, it should stand up to unfettered scrutiny with no sanction.

And the other open secret is that "kill white men" goes unchallenged on most social media.

White men aren't being threatened. Try again.

This is what they want you to think though.

I see you didn't deny the first secret :usrs:

That's not really a valid argument against it because either way it depends on who is in power regardless of previous hate speech protections in place. Anybody in power can silence opinions against the government. Why would protecting hate speech make that more of a threat? it doesn't.

There are no REAL threats.

Violence against police is an issue though. Has its ties in police brutality so both issues must be addressed.

The government can't in America because of the First Amendment.  If you don't value free speech and marketplace of ideas then you don't love freedom.

There's actually been a study that found that white men are killing themselves do to various reasons.

Oh good grief, I didn't see that coming.

I still stand by Sanders when he says that she has the right to speak at a public event. He even suggests challenging her intellectually.

She has every right to free speech. That means that the government will not arrest her for her words. That does not mean that any business or institution has to host her. Free Speech does not give citizens freedom from rules, regulations, common decency expectations and safety considerations. If there is going to be a large interruption and possibility of riots...and all the costs and inconveniences that come along with those issues, an institution can decide that they don't want to host an event.

And using your argument they can amend it to protect speech against the government...

And like what others already stated, the best way to protest is to attend her speech and ask the hard questions. That's something that reporters aren't doing at Sean Spicer/Trump press meetings.

You're sickened by support for free speech and the First Amendment?

I can and will NOT tolerate any kind of HATE SPEECH!

Of course we cherish here in Germany freedom of opinion as well as freedom of press, but you are not allowed to "insult", to "offend" or to "denounce" f. e. a person or a group because of their religion, their sexual orientation or their origin.

German Constitutional Law:

http://germanlawarchive.iuscomp.org/?p=212

The hate spewing Ku-Klux-Klan (KKK) or the Westboro Baptist Church would NEVER be allowed here in Germany - and rightly so!

Oh, and we certainly would also NEVER elect an alt-right supporting idiot like Donald Dump to become our Chancellor.

His mimicry of a disabled reporter as well as his misogynic "Grab them by their ***!" would - without a doubt - have been his political death here in Germany...

Sometimes I feel really sorry for the USA.
