Radio Charts Innacurate? Radio vs Streaming

I was thinking the other day. An average #1 hit will often have what? 40M to 50M streams from Spotify, Apple Music and Vevo combined in US?

Im excluding music videos when they are first released or in peak popularity as some fans replay the crap out of them over and over and that will artificially give large numbers that dont reflect most peoples listening habits.

Anyway top hits on Radio easily surpass 200M Audience Impressions each week in US

Now i know many people especially older ones still listen to radio. I myself from time to time listen to radio instead of my phone.

But does streaming really make up only 20% to 25% of listens and radio the other 75% to 80%? :oprah:

That seems too high to me like something is not right  Like how donthey track AI? Do they estimate listeners per station at each time of day? If so, are they adjusting properly for the fewer listeners who no longer listen to radio much?

When I started caring about charts I was surprised at how much people listen to radios

I Guess when people commute on cars , they might've ?

I think many still commute to work in cars and go shopping in cars.  I discover new songs only by radio.  If it's a Gaga song, I purchase it and stream it to support Gaga.  Otherwise, I never stream.

I live outside the space time continuum.

Yeah that's what I meant.  I used to discover new songs only by radio too, until I have to dorm in my uni... now I don't really get what's trendy at all Dx ... just saw this other thread about having no female artists being on the top 10 of billboard, and I realize I don't know half these songs :duck: Nowadays, I just listen to what GagaDaily users suggest lol.

Yes.    Since many (I think many) people still learn of new songs through radio I think it is important Gaga keep a radio presence, such as radio deals.  When people discover a song on radio, they might then purchase it or stream it.

I stream, then buy typically. Unless you're an artist I already stan, then I buy outright. But I'm an old hag (for this board) at age 26.
