I have a lot of work to do, i'm gonna bluetooth my headphones to my laptop and my speakers to my phone, put them in a draw, and stream TC on repeat on Spotify and AM on two devices, all day.

It all seems to be quite random. I think they largely ignore requests. It's a combination of different things, really. The sound of the track and whether it suits the target audience of the station is important. Then they will certainly take into consideration performance on streaming and iTunes as well. And they consider who the artist is, their current popularity and image etc. They just weigh up all of these factors and more and decide what goes on the playlists. Then I imagine there's a lot of the DJs personal preference involved as well.
