Not trying to be the debbie downer, but the streaming numbers don't look very promising. The song is on 500+ playlists including some major ones but it's still only hanging around at #40s/#50s, which is not a very good sign. CTTR also had massive promo on Spotify and was able to chart high (top 10/20 in major markets) initially, but it dropped like a rock. If TC doesn't gain much traction by next week, then it's safe to say it won't happen.

TC only has exposure to like 40M playlist followers. Most songs in the Top 10 have exposure to almost 100M+. So...

I come here to read a lot but am not a frequent contributor on this thread.

It's been real challenging these days for me to not cringe.

So many charsters noob come here to meltdown for the slightliest thing. Can they stop embarrassing themselves :toofunny:

Spoiler

OT: TC no.8 Hong Kong AM, dropped due to new releases, still highest charting English song by a female artist. :classy:

which is still a very big push for a brand new song. The song should've been on Top 20/30 of the big markets by now. I have been following Spotify charts for a while and the song's performance may be "good for someone like Gaga", but in reality it's underwhelming. I'll give TC 5 more days and by this Friday we'll know whether it's happening or not.

Stop freaking out. The reason it was charting so high on sales before is because hardcore fans were finding out about the song and buying it. The general public still mostly hasn't heard it. Radio is picking up at a reasonable rate, and that will start driving a resurgence in sales and streaming in a few days.

I guess the point of this song is to gradually rebuild her own streaming force rather than to compete with other artists, since we all know that her streaming was atrocious.:awkney:

It's actually a similar situation with MR, which wasn't that strong on radio compared with other huge artists but managed to win her radio support back and paved the way for future singles.

Girl... the video isn't even out yet

The song is still top 10 in UK and aus

Did you forget that it took mr 5 months and 100 performances to become a hit or?

Can yall wait until at least the video is out to melt down

Here is my two cents on why everyone should stop worrying so much:

The early sales numbers were excellent. However, they were driven by hardcore Gaga fans finding out about the song and buying it. Hardcore fanbase is drying up now. This is 100% normal for a song WITHOUT RADIO SUPPORT that has been out for 7 days.

But if it isn't getting radio support then it's not a hit, right? WRONG. It hasn't technically reached its radio add date yet, and it is actually doing quite well to already be charting on Pop and Adult Pop with reasonable growth rates. The problem isn't that it isn't getting radio support -- it is that it didn't start out with a bunch of radio support + a strong rate of radio growth the way that other big name songs typically do. Why? Because it didn't start out with a radio promotion deal at all. Gaga's team didn't send the song to radio until AFTER it dropped on iTunes and got a strong reaction.

In actuality, the song has a strong CURRENT growth rate at radio, but its total radio audience impressions are still quite small. As radio accelerates over the next several days to several weeks, you should expect sales to quickly stabilize and then start trending back up.

Streaming, although still soft relative to other big artist debuts (because it still hasn't really been introduced to the GP). has actually grown since the song's debut, as the hardcore fans that bought the song haven't suddenly stopped streaming it, reflecting continued strength. As with sales, expect heavy streaming to be driven by heavy radio airplay gains in coming weeks.

For those who say wait a week and then judge, I 100% agree. If the song still doesn't show strong and visible signs of growth at all three formats within the next seven days, then I will admit that I was wrong.

But I really don't think that is going to happen. This song is going to be a hit.

I was only talking about streaming. Videos barely have any impact on Spotify. I'm not even worried about sales or airplay. She'll do fine on iTunes once the discount kicks in and radio will play it if her team is willing to invest.

You guys are overestimating the affect of a music video. It wont save the song. What we really need is a BBMAs performance, it made Just Like Fire a hit

Not everyone knows there is a new lady Gaga song out. I think it being in playlists is helping people finding it. The same thing happens with mv. To people like Rihanna or the weekend the don't need music videos because people are already streaming their music. Someone like lady Gaga mv still help her when it goes on the yt trending page. Like you said her streaming isn't good and it's not just on Spotify it's on all platforms. Gaga NEEDS playlists and to be on the trending page on YouTube
