The Cure = Having little faith in Joanne singles?

Joanne era isn't really over if there's a whole tour coming. The Cure could just be here to accompany the Joanne era. We don't know anything.

Not because the Joanne songs aren't good (they're amazing!)  I think her team just wanted worldwide hit single. Joanne is wonderful (and has sold quite well considering how many people said it would bomb), but it's a different sound than what current hits sound like.

(I don't think any type of EP or whatever is coming, but we'll have to wait and see).

I just don't think Joanne has many radio-friendly singles, which is typically the whole point of having a single.

Its not a slight, more an acknowledgement. Joanne is great as a whole, it just isn't a singles album.

Best visual since BTW era? Whaaat tf?

Applause and the entire GUY ARTPOP movie and the scenes we have from dwuw are better...

Also there aren't really any good singles on Joanne left. Sorry not sorry.

It was a smart move to keep her image strong and make an improvement in her career... but there's no artistic reasoning or artistic integrity behind it, let's be honest.

So I read somewhere someone saying 'What will we have to complain about now?'

I now see.

Lol no you don't see. Considering the little haters were out the second this song was released complaining in the MAIN thread for the song. I posed a thought and asked a question. I clearly and positively stated that I love Gaga for continuing to give to us and that I like the song.

I'm sorry but ARTPOP had two singles so it's hard to consider anything from that era. BTW had consistently amazing videos. Applause was good and GUY was ambitious but in MY opinion (hence the tag associated with this post) I think the quality of John Wayne video would've elevated its status as a great single. Bad Romance would NOT have been as iconic if the associated video wasn't legendary.

And before I get read for filth again for having a positive post with an opinion, I don't think John Wayne is on the level of Bad Romance, so don't come for me. I'm just making a point.

I like and appreciate your opinion. Thanks for the civilized response.

Well I never said the entire era is over. If anything the Cure will most definitely be performed on the tour now. I was just saying I wish she had a little faith in songs like Hey Girl and DIC and sent them to radio before making a really good, but fairly generic and straight forward pop song that's quite different artistically than the theme and messages she was sending with Joanne.

Maybe Joanne  was supposed to be a short era since the beginning?

We don't know what's going on in the background, anything can happen, we just need to enjoy what we get and that's it..

Clearly this line:

I'm not crazy about the fact that it's rather generic but happy nonetheless that we have new music and Gaga continues to deliver for us.

indicates I am enjoying and appreciative. It just raised some concerns in my eyes towards the perception of Joanne. For how much emotion she put towards this album I feel as though she wouldn't release a song so sonically different from the rest of Joanne in the middle of promoting the album. Let's face it, she hasn't even gone on tour yet...

I'll take John Wayne's video over Applause's video. And as a song.

G.U.Y. Is amazing though.

Joanne is an album experience and the songs are best heard in that context.  Million Reasons is really the only stand-alone song that worked as a single - and even then it was a long, uphill battle.  It seems Gaga understands this.  I think that's why John Wayne was a video but not a single - radio would never have considered playing it.  There's no rule that determines how long an album cycle has to be.

Why is everybody in here imply that Gaga is a label puppet who is so easily influenced by Interscope?

I think Joanne was a vanity project, just something she had to do for her to be satisfied. Now she is back to being a proper pop star who wants to compete. She was knocked down during ARTPOP but now she's back.
