Yes, this is the end of the Joanne era.

This debate of whether it's a new era?

The answer is, yes. LG6 is coming.

This is not the Joanne era, as we have a new single that is NOT from the album, tour aside. The single cover has none of the aesthetics Joanne had, and would'nt fit into well into the folk-pop, raw sound.

For reference: she started The Fame Mons†er era in the middle of The Fame era too. Boys Boys Boys (or Starstruck, acc to oomf) was supposed to be the 6th single, iirc. But Bad Romance released, at ~same week Paparazzi peaked on the Hot 100.

She performed both The Fame and The Fame Mons†er on the Monster tour too, which also extended into the Born This Way era. The tours barely dictate the eras guys, music comes first in deciding that, regardless of the name of it.

Regardless of why this is all happening, Get ready for the LG6 EP era. Two albums in one tour wow. She's coming. :excited2:

maybe be we are in a new era or maybe a mix between the new era and The Joanne Era. I believe that she will have 2 eras at the same time but maybe make the new era longer than Joanne.

that would be cool but don't have too many expectations because if The Cure ends up being a buzz single there probably won't be an EP

also keep in mind Gaga is currently very busy and has been very busy for the last couple of months

Maybe we can have both the new Era and the Joanne Era at the same time.

Hear what? The EP? She said she was hard at work masking music in the studio.

Gaga doesnt do buzz singles, unless they're for an album. For whatever reason, she's having another era already, and we just gotta embrace it.

I hate how people were saying Joanne is awesome and everything and now all of the sudden they a trashing it because of The Cure. I mean The Cure doesn't mean it's the start of a new Era. So just let the Joanne Era end. I highly doubt that we will see the new era till fall of 2017 or maybe even early next year. I mean I really don't like the Joanne Era but just let it be.

Well apparently The Cure was planned for later this year. I feel like we are getting some sort of album/EP. She probably won't tour for it though.

I agree with you. LG6 is coming this year. Joanne was just a warm-up hence the lack of a large promotional schedule. Joanne tour will end next year so she can promote ASIB and then go on another world tour for LG6 well into 2019. :flutter:

Tea. The Monster Ball extended well into the BTW era, and the BTWB was going on as she announced/curated ARTPOP, and surely would've gone into the era if it weren't for the hip incident. So yeah, agreed, the tours always come during the tail-end of an era/the ushering in of a new era.

BUT. The Joanne era gave us so much.
Besides the Superbowl and Coachella, both amazing new heights, we got:

-a Top 5 single
-the Presidential run and Gaga's support for Miss Clinton happening simultaneously with the era (which is historical, in and of itself; Gaga's support, the race, the end result, it all added a new layer of complexity to Joanne's messages of inclusiveness and friendship)
-The Dive Bar Tour
-Carpool Karaoke, SNL, various top-notch performances
-Metallica x Gaga

It was an era of firsts, and an era of new heights, so surely, it will be remembered fondly by me. Although I could've seen some videos being released for fun after JW, even if MR was the last single lifted from the album, it was a joy from September until now. I'll need a bit more confirmation of a new musical project though before I call it the end of the era. So whether The Cure is a stand-alone single as a gift to her fans, or it proceeds a new project entirely, will be the pivotal point in where the Joanne era ends.

❤ x ❤
