Does everyone hate Joanne all of a sudden?

Joanne is a good album, but just not my cup of tea. I prefer The Cure then the half of the Joanne album. I can't say that I 'hate' Joanne, but now comparing it to the new song, it feels even more boring.

I love Joanne, and it makes me sad that the era has been cut short, but TC simply amazing

I loved Joanne and I'm feeling sad because of the offensive comments towards the album. Is very personal and important for her, is very disrespectful to talk like that.

I don't get it tbh.

Joanne is a fantastic album.

I think it seems that way because The Cure brought out the anti-Joanners that's all :laughga:

I honestly don't get the hype on The Cure. Great song (yes it's generic but a BOP), but the hypocrisy is killing me (i.e. Zedd,Chainsmokers etc. = trash. Gaga releases The Cure = best pop song of all time. Hypocritical ****s).

excuse my french :derpga:

Idk how to feel, I definitely like the song but I hope Gaga is still following her passion.  If Gaga is wholeheartedly happy doing this song, unlike Perfect Illusion, then I'm here fore it bc this just further proves that Gaga can do every genre and can still make a mainstream hit if she wanted to.

All of a sudden? No. A lot of fans, including myself, didn't like it since it came out.

The looks have been super simple (a lot have been straight up boring), the music videos have been extremely basic, the concept is unrelated or and probably disrespectful (dedicated to her dead aunt but still talks about fingering herself? Ok), and the songs got old so fast (half the album was way too country or no my thing day 1).

So no, not all of a sudden.

Why are you all so obsessed? It's called personal taste, out of 6 Gaga albums is fair to not like some of them, Joanne is the most recent but let me tell you, even BTW got hate from the fans so this is nothing new, just enjoy the music and let everyone else make up their minds if they like it or not

Not everyone.  I never liked Joanne and never will.  The Cure is simply more to my taste. Don't get why we have to have these threads all the time, grouping and blaming fans etc.

People like what they like and it's fine. If you see someone being OTT and making awful remarks just report and move on.  Let's not fuel the negativity with more.

Joanne is like my dad. I don't like my dad much but I still love him in a way.

Joanne will be there for me even if I disagree with her a lot of the time.

I feel like there are 3 kinds of people in GGD:

 - The ones that dislike "pop music" nowadays and everything on the radio (Zedd, JB, Ariana, The Chainsmokers :toofunny:, etc) and loved Joanne.

- The ones that like that tropical trend and asked Gaga to release "bops" so she could "stay relevant" instead of staying true to herself (and silently hated Joanne and kept hoping that she released TF 2.0)

- And those who can appreciate a good song, regardless of the genre :tony:

Personally, I'm in the first group. I JUST HATE POP MUSIC NOWADAYS. It's trash :toofunny::toofunny:

You forgot the ones that said they hate generic songs and made fun of Katy, the Chainsmokers, etc but the second Gaga releases a basic song they suddenly now love it, which is the case of 80% of this forum :ladyhaha:

No. ARTPOP and Joanne are my favorite albums from her. I find Joanne very easy to revisit time and time again. It's a fun, different album. I like a lot of the elements in it.
