I think she's proving that she can still write hits if she wants.

Like with the John Wayne video she proved she could still make crazy videos if she wants to.

Anyway. Enjoy the song. We weren't excepting anything so let's be happy we got something

Yes it feels like an improvised creative experiment, i guess she wants to see where it leads and make her next moves according to the outcome

i am glad tho she is trying something new

Everything since Born This Way to this fanbase is an experiment

More like since Alejandro MV.

This song is just different than antything in her discography, instrumental sounds a lot like what's popular on the radio, lyrics are safe, vocals are safe. This song screams to me 'i need hit record' and I'm not here for that 😕

Christ sake. EVERYTHING she released prior to Joanne was radio-friendly. Y'all are making out like she was this super experimental indie artist who's doing a complete 180.

This isn't an 'experiment'. It sounds exactly like Brooklyn Nights, DWUW and other unreleased songs she's done. The only difference is the trendy tropical riff which SHE ALREADY DID ON DANCING IN CIRCLES, WHICH YALL LOVED AND WANTED TO BE A SINGLE BECAUSE IT WAS RADIO FRIENDLY!!!!

omg i think that's why I love The Cure so much

I think she might be trying to make a statement that she can still top the charts as a big **** you to haters. And honestly I hope she does. This is not the song that we should let to flop

It's like a perfect mashup of Brooklyn Nights, DWUW, Posh Life... I don't get why everybody's complaining. It's a great song IMO.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

Indie acts can't sustain a pop artist, when will you understand this?

It's not like she's doing the same thing over and over like The Chainsmokers and Ed Sheeran, she's just trying to recuperate some GP appreciation so when she releases other things they have more interest on her.

She's just being smart, stop all this hate

It has vocals very similar No Way and Second Time Around, my inner stan still cries :cryga:

It does seem like a dumbing down of her skill.

I mean, I don't care if she releases something reminiscent of what's on the radio. "Dancing in Circles" has that tropical beat that is common right now, but the instrumentation and the songwriting are top-notch.

"The Cure" is just kind of...there. I don't pick up anything remotely Gaga about it.

I hope she doesn't read threads like this. She wrote a simple loving beautiful pop song about appreciating us and ya'll then call her basic and a sellout.

Listen to Freezer Burn or Second Time Around (both Gaga unreleased songs)

The Cure might have elements of what's popular on radio in its production, but it's also very reminascent of some of Gaga's pre-Fame songs and it also has a RnB flair to it, I don't thing it's as generic as some of you make it

The thing is that Second Time Around is also insanely generic
