Is The Cure a standalone single or part of an album?

Maybe I heard it this way because I want it to be true, but the way she said she's been in the studio making music makes me think there's more. I dunno, just the way she said it felt like The Cure was just one of many.

Edit: also, if The Cure really is a stand alone single, wouldn't it have made more sense to debut it on the last weekend of Coachella and go out with a bang? I mean, now she has to top herself in some way.

It better be part of an EP. I'm not a fan of the whole idea of releasing standalone singles like Rihanna did prior to her album ANTI. Regardless of whether they're good or bad, I'd like singles to be associated with a bigger work and have some sort of theme that links them together. One of the reasons why ARTPOP felt fragmented is because it lacked a proper theme and the whole "My ARTPOP could mean anything" did not work quite so well, because it's an album, not a greatest hits, and there was neither a theme for an album nor that many potential hits to qualify is a greatest hits-like album.

It would be great if she releases an EP with 7-9 tracks. Something like The Fame Monster would be epic. The Cure is a wonderful track and it's literally the cure for the mistake that was called Joanne. The style of The Cure feels like a return to her roots in The Fame. So if show somehow makes an EP that is short, on-point, free of fillers and somehow shows a transition from light tracks like The Cure to a darker tone towards the end, it would be a huge deal for her.

After all, the idea of making albums with 20 songs aren't always fun, because quality beats quantity.

How dare you...

She said ASIB would have live music so I don't think so. Plus this does not fit the tone of the film's story.

While I have been enjoying The Cure on repeat this morning, I can't help but think how this song or potential album/EP may affect the Joanne World Tour? I'm not sure where to post this, but what is she decides to release an 8-track EP before the tour? And the JWT turns into more of those songs, and she only performs A-YO, PI, Million Reasons and John Wayne on the JWT? I still don't have tix bc my local show is sold out, but I really want to go, but I want to hear most Joanne songs live??? Anyone else have thoughts on how this new song may affect JWT?

She'll play most songs from Joanne, don't worry.

Why would she release a song from a movie which is coming out in 17 months?

okay, I can really see her going for this kinda sound & I'm definitly here for that!

So I guess TC is for an upcoming EP á la TFM, just for Joanne...... which makes me excited for some RedOne produced songs, hahah

I think it's just a Summerbop. ASIB's songs will probably be more accoustic/opera

It's probably standalone since the cover has the same typo than all Joanne stuff

I hope it's part of an EP, but maybe not a full on album, since that could take people's minds off of Joanne. Just imagine though a 4-6 song EP performed with Joanne on the world tour.

With the tour and the film probably just a single.

She said I've been in the studio lately and that she wants to share a song with us

Why would Gaga go into the studio just for one song to release whenever for whatever. Even if the song is radio-friendly doubt Gaga would go into the studio pay dust to Joanne (third single nowhere to be found) just for a hit. I call some sort of pop project considering how Joanne is the first Gaga album that is truly lacking in uptempo pop records.

Also guys all these concerns of a possible EP overshadowing Joanne during the Joanne world tour. Remember Joanne to Gaga is way more than just an album. During the Coachella performance she said my name is Joanne. So it's like saying Lady Gaga world tour. The name is more flexible than you think. Most people will be there to a hear a collection of Gaga songs and not all of Joanne (which as an album is not that uptempo to fully be played at a tour full of people wanting to rave n dance). If an EP is out , the EP plus half of Joanne would makeup the tour with JD,PK,BTW and BR thrown somewhere. By the way is it just me or is Applause being paid dust lately, don't think it'll make it on the tour sadly.
