ISIS is a way of thinking. You cannot bomb a way of thinking out of existence. All he is doing is creating martyrs to inspire new generations of sympathizers and fighters. What we need is to capture as many as we can and prosecute them, and reveal to the world what truly deplorable humans they are.

This tea though :gum:

$314,000,000 holy crap.

The costs you are referring to are not for the GBU-43 aka MOAB - but for another weapon system.

I suggest, you should actually read the article.

I just know Trump supporters are losing their sh*t right now. They wanted zero focus on other areas of the world.

He is changing his tune on NATO too. Lol his own base will serve his head on a silver platter to the Democrats. It's all just surreal at this point.

I did read the article. $314,000,000 is a lot of money for 20 bombs.

YES!  Preach!  :rockstar:

One cannot have a "war" on an "idea."  The whole "War on Terror" is such bullshit.  (Back in my social science education days, we used to talk about how you can't have a war on such...but we manage to create fear and other factors that lead to support of said "wars."  [See, Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine. ya'll...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shock_Doctrine]

Same. I'm not fighting for a country that constantly creates its own problems.

They (the government, military powers, and higher ups) created ISIS by taking the U.S. into places it shouldn't be. They can put their own boots on the ground and fight the war they started. Count me out.

ISIS NEEDS to be taken out before they kill more innocent people. It was a good call to drop a MOAB on them, that's what they deserved. I'm just praying that it doesn't backfire cause I'm sure they're not happy...

In other words, you are only praying no one takes revenge on innocent Westerners. Screw the innocent Afghan civilians who were just blown up to pieces, right? Bomb only hits bad guys right, such precision? Bomb designed to cause as much casualties and damage as possible was dropped on area where around 95k people live. Daesh are not even that big of a threat in Afghanistan, they're about 1500. This was testing of a weapon and Afghans are used as "guinea pigs". It's also another stunt used as a distraction from Trump and Russia love affair.

You are so naive thinking this won't cause more terrorism, but the narrative will always be "they hate us for our freedom", not because they're being bombarded on a daily basis for decades.

THANK YOU.

But instead we'll just see another "Breaking: X People Die in Terrorist Attack in Y" and the thread filled to the brim with people saying how terrible the state of the world is, and asking "Why does this keep happening? These people must be stopped. :smh:

Like we all know ISIS is scum, but the issue at hand surrounding terrorism is a lot more complicated and detailed than a simple good guy/bad guy scenario, because to a lot of people in the Middle East, the West are the bad guy :smh:

We need to educate the common people, we need to reach out to them and communicate, otherwise this issue is never going to end. Yet, I can't help but feel like Western governments know this, and at this point are just using terrorism to further their own agendas :saladga:

There are no reports of civilian casualties.. The bomb was only dropped on isis bunkers to destroy their weapons, away from towns. They took all precautions necessary to prevent civilian casualties and collateral damage.

This needed to be done or else they would continue to take over.

You really believe this? After 1000 of killed civilians in March alone? "Away from towns" doesn't mean deserted area where no human lives. Media not reporting yet on all casualties doesn't mean there aren't any. Terrorists are not able to take over that country with 1500 fighters.

Again, this won't stop terrorism, it creates more.

You guys :deadbanana: ZERO civilians were affected by this bomb. Half the people in this thread have no idea the consequences of letting terrorism fester, whoever created the group does not matter at this point, stopping them does.

im so glad the government doesn't pay attention to internet warriors

Seems like this could be a warning to North Korea as well - as in don't test your nuclear weapons Saturday because we have bombs and aren't afraid to use them. :S
