It's when it is twisted by "society norms" that it breaks. But yes, I'd bet good money that the most anti-gay figures in our world enjoy the idea of same-sex relations, and it scares them how much they like it. Around 300 priests and brothers had molested young people in the Boston area, but their crimes were covered up by the Church.
