Still, the physical removal seemed very over the top but if he's refusing it's no doubt going to have to come to some physical removal. I mean, you get physically chucked out of any private business if you refuse to leave. 

Crappy customer service but if you're asked to leave, just leave. Complain afterwards.

And yes he's a doctor, but anyone could have any number of reasons why they shouldn't be asked to leave. If you've done random selection you need to disregard individual circumstances and deal with the consequences afterwards. 

It looks like he did have reason enough for United to get him back on the flight, as he did go back on, but he could have gotten that same result without refusing the airline security. 

Again, that was absolutely hard to watch but they have the right to ask him to leave and you can complain and resolve afterwards. Physical removal is an escalation that you'd want to avoid, but if someone is refusing to leave, private business have the option to do so.

Though, overbooking should be illegal, they do it on purpose to maximize profits if people cancel or don't show up for their flight and it usually works fine but when It doesn't this is the result.

That's an airplane, not a nightclub. 

They don't have right to ask him leave just to board their own employee !!!!!!!!! Let alone right to remove a passenger forcibly to board their own employee !!!!!!! Where do you get these ignorant ideas to defend this company ?!?!? 

Moreover, this is never the result, stop spreading ignorant claims. They try to find volunteers by approaching single, young passengers before boarding yet passengers still have right to refuse whatever airlines offer, they have to find someone and get them to accept it even if they have to offer $10,000, there has never been such result or situation as you claim.

I'm not defending the company, I couldn't care less about their reputation. Though, keep in mind this is a huge company with over 86,000 employees, not everyone participated in this **** show, so yeah don't be dramatic.

And no, United is free to offer whatever for voluntary bumps, cash, vouchers, tickets, etc, it is only when it is involuntary that there is a cap in what they are forced to pay in cash, but of course, if United wants to, they can offer more, in either instance. They could have offered more money, they just decided to move on to involuntary.
