Okay I get that he didn't move and they did use force and they can, but that's not okay. The man was bleeding on the floor

If an airline asked me to deboard so that they could make my seat look a little less like Azealia Bank's closet, I would not be rebording that flight.

You can see from the videos that most people on the flight were outraged and disgusted by what was happening. But I can't blame them for not going further than just voicing their disgust. Anyone who physically steps in would likely get booted from the flight as well......which nobody wants to risk.

Sucks that many airlines overbook. I feel more of this backlash should be directed towards The Chicago Department of Aviation, however. 

I'm glad to see the officer was placed on leave. They can get him off the plane without dragging him and treating him like an animal.

His wife was three rows back. He wanted to fly home with his wife. Maybe she didn't want to go home alone after a trip? 

Also, why didn't the airline settle all of this before they let people board? Usually they offer incentives before people board the plane. 

This was complete mismanagement by the airline and the violence towards a paying costumer was beyond unacceptable!

My best friend showed me the video footage of this tonight and I was appalled. How disgusting. It should honestly be illegal for airlines to overbook flights but maybe this will get the ball rolling on legislation of that sort now. Doubtful though, considering the corporate owned conservatives are in power.

That is untrue. From the footage available on social media it's clear that the people who voiced their disgust were in the minority. Watch the videos again. Aside from one woman yelling, and few men grumbling, the majority of people did not voice their outrage. Was it the bystander effect that caused the men sitting directly in front of the doctor to hardly turned their heads while he screamed in pain, or were they scared of being thrown off the flight themselves? It doesn't really matter, it's sad either way.

If you place a higher value on remaining on a flight than you do on defending the dignity of an old man, shame on you.

There's no excuse as to what happened to this man. Granted the system called for some kind of regulation and it was facilitated, but so poorly. It's just despicable, terrible.

I still can't fully understand what kind of reasons as to why people excuse this sort of inhumanity through the veiled sake of keeping things in line. That's another human being right there, quit treating him just like a figure and own up to the mistakes that you've wrought on yourself. A complete lack of finesse, responsibility, and integrity is what they've displayed for the entire world to see today. 

It's too late for sugarcoating, they need to fix this.

Just flipping horrible how sunken in this makes me. It's like u don't expect to be so affected, then there it is. Mismanagement everywhere, and this man had to suffer the consequences of their mistakes.

This company's executive branch needs to be punished seriously. Preferably, I wanna $hit in CEO's mouth, his statements are as bad as what his employees dare to do. He literally says that they will learn from this experience as a company as if their customers' dignity and safety is just here so they can educate themselves as a crappy company they are.

Gosh I am so angry, I want those guys to be tortured in front of my eyes; that man was a respectable doctor who did nothing wrong; who will pay for his dignity, what will compensate his viral humiliation, that pant sagging ghetto piece of $hit who dragged him ??!?!

ALSO, every airline overbooks but they can't take passenger who already boarded out of the plane by force; they usually approach young, alone passengers and offer free 5-star hotel, new ticket, and more than the amount the actual ticket was worth in those kind of situations if more people try to check-in than capacity, and you still have right to refuse it all, they have to find someone else. 

WORST PART IS THAT they were trying to board their own crew, and thought they had right to pick passengers to take out, then actually act on it ?!?! This is literally physically assault, I hope he sues them all.
