Her acting in it was stiff as that was The Countess' attitude. She's lived so long and seen many things that nothing really excites her like a park that the two women wanted to visit. In "Flicker", she really got to show her true acting potental and it was pretty good, does she deserve that Gilden Globe? Yeah, they all did. And hopefully she does her best and the film is a success. I loved to see The Fame Monster Era( in terms of awards) but in acting.

What do you mean by being stiff. Isnt that what the countess was supposed to be like?

I thought she was fascinating in flicker, but maybe just because I love her lol

Maybe if you watched it, you would know that she didn't win an Emmy for that show.

not really, at least for acting... I think there will be some average roles and fans having meltdowns about the critics and the Academy being against Gaga , the usual fan excuses

Honestly, I don't know how this movie is going to turn out. Truthfully, I think it's been overdone - and I would not be surprised to see the Academy reject it altogether. This is no reflection of Gaga, though. It would however be an almost a fair reflection of a lack of originality. A third remake? It's just not needed; nor is it in any demand, either.

Having said that, ASISB aside, I am very confident that Gaga will win an Oscar in her lifetime. I don't know what movie it'll fall under, but it's going to happen - I have no doubt. If she wants something, she will get it. It may take time but she'll get there.

So In short, yes: I am very sure that Gaga will win an Oscar award.

She's suppose to be stiff motherf*cker that cares only about herself, and basically "lives" just to survive. And although I don't want to spoil anything she does open up as the season progesses.

Not for acting. But Best Original Song could happen. :woohoo:

She can go far but she should cool it with the fillers because it's a career killer unless you're Nicole Kidman or Cate Blanchett

As for the Oscar, there's no doubt in my mind that she'll win for Best Original Song in the near Future :diane:

The Child

Yes but only if she plays challenging roles

The Countess was basically Lady Gaga playing Lady Gaga

And ASIB will be (I'm only assuming don't attack me lol) Lady Gaga playing Stefani trying to make it in the industry

Both of these roles are too similar

She should play something really unexpected

For acting? Not a chance. For soundtrack? Yes.

I'm sorry, but AHS has not shown me that Gags can compete with the likes of Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep or Viola Davis.

No but I'd really like to see her win an Oscar, I'm just not getting my hopes up till we learn more about this movie.

Even if A Star Is Born doesn't land her one, I believe she will have more movie opportunities in the future. I have equal respect for artists who won an Oscar and for artists who are just nominated, because god knows how hard it is to get nominated. Amy Adams, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale are all actors who are considered the finest talent in the movie industry and yet it took so many years until Leo and Bale got theirs.

An Oscar nomination for Lady Gaga is putting her on the same (acting) league as Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, and Meryl Streep, we need to recognise how prestigious that is.

Anyway, let's not forget she already is an Academy Award nominee thanks to Til It Happens to You.

How can you compare the role offered to Gaga in AHS to ASIB?

AHS was her first acting role, I mean Sarah Paulson took training to get where she is today, I'm not saying Gaga can definitely land an Oscar, I'm saying it takes time for an actor to develop her skills, and AHS was her first acting role and she landed a Golden Globe.

Kinda hope so! That'd be really cool for her! I didn't realise until a year or two ago that she actually had another dream that was yet to come true, and it looks like she's working on that now!

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

I expect if she takes acting as seriously as she takes her music she will, will the film be panned? Absolutely because Gaga is naturally panned it's the aura her persona gives off because it's sadly bigger than her talent. I mean many of the AP and C2C metacritic reviews mention her actual persona than the music. Just like how most of Lemonade's are based off the film not the music.

But from the looks of thing's she's playing her persona again like she did in Hotel, I mean come on she's gone brunette to play a struggling musician and will probably go back blonde and her character will probably bleach her hair to get famous image wise. Seems like she's playing herself for sure. I personally enjoyed her little part in Roanoke Nightmarke because she was playing a well acted character with an accent and more.

TDLR; she could win one in the future but not for ASIB I don't think unless the film is spectacular, because her persona outweighs her and they'll have the highest expectations for her just so she's easier to slander like they do with her music & sales.

Exactly. Gaga has been acclaimed several times tho. Her Superbowl performances in 2016 and 2017, her Oscar performances in 2015 and 2016, AHS received mixed reviews because a lot of reviewers only reviewed the first episode, as the season progressed people actually started to appreciate her acting skills especially in and after Flicker (Episode 7).

Btw I disagree that just because she's playing a singer means she's playing her persona. It's really not easy to capture the emotions of such a character in ASIB than said.

Exactly. I mean a few years back then during The Fame, if Gaga said she wanted to do a Sound of Music tribute, people would laugh and mock at how she's gonna fail at belting out those broadway vocals and we know what happened in 2015.

Don't expect a box office hit, it won't happen, it'll probably be an arthouse film

If she ever wins an Oscar, it's for a song

The academy sucks daddy Bradley's d*ck though? This is a big budget musical starring one of the most popular male leads of our times and a hugely popular star like Gaga about the music industry and it's a remake of Hollywood classic... It's going to be a huge box office smash
