giskardsb 12,565
The ARTIST is whats important. I am a fan of Gaga, and RedOne, DJWS, Zedd, Madeon, Mark Ronson, Ruth, Steven Klein, McQueen, Nick Night, Boomkack and Ritchie, the musicians and dancers.... all of the CREATIVE people Gaga works with, has worked with, and of course Gaga herself that drives the whole thing. I am not a fan of managers, Interscope, sales and chart numbers, or the bullshit pop industry that is more concerned with sellable product and bean counting than with actual art and music. I am a fan of artists and musicians. I want to see the product of artists minds and feelings, how their life impacts their work. I want to see them test their boundaries and expand their abilities. I want to see them threaten the status quo, fight the establishment, do what they feel needs to be done at a given time. I want them to say what they feel they need to say at any give time. I want art that is the product of the artist, not of a marketing team and writing camps and focus groups. The BEST thing about Gaga is her willingness to change, to explore, to stretch, to test herself. It's great that Gaga has taken control of her own career and doesn't just treat what she does as a job, but as artistic exploration. "I don't want to be part of the machine, I want the machine to be part of me." - Lady Gaga. people here at times get obsessed about the pop product. be obsessed instead about the artist. Let them take you on a journey of their own exploration, and in the process help you explore your own boundaries. That is what the artists job is. Miel 15,009
I wholeheartedly agree. I don't always agree with her artistic (and sometimes promotional, as they directly intersect) choices, but in the end of the day it's the artist that I admire. 3 points in and ready for more

That's part of the exploration for both the artist and the fan. Sometimes artists I've liked have gone off the rails in directions I didn't like. Sometimes I end up getting a new appreciation for where they have gone over time... other times not. It's ok though, better than being static. Bambino 24,267
She thinks of herself as an artist who's able to literally try everything and be great at doing it, from acting to singing different music genres and everything. That's Gaga now.
Sid 6,755
**** anyone that tries to place credit for her sales on anyone else. She created 'Lady Gaga' before she knew Troy, her art is all her creation and anyone that promoted her was just riding her wave. ...ıllıllı c h e r r y c h e r r y b o o m b o o m ıllıllı... To quote Pink for a second "LA told me 'you'll be a popstar'. All you have to change is everything you are. Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears. She's so pretty. That just ain't me". Funny how music imitates life. I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you
