The release of a new single means that the old single is going to start declining. That happened to Sia because Cheap Thrills has HUGE so it needed time to dissapear so it ended up still being relevant when The Greatest had grown. Same happened with the Chainsmokers. The difference is that in Gaga's case 1)MR is not really THAT huge on the radio 2)We don't even know if a next single would be played on the radio enough to gradually replace MR

Aren't you contradicting yourself? You just said that radio stations would drop MR in favour of the new single. :oprah:

That is my only point.I did not change anything. The thing is that the radio would gradually drop MR because a new single is out but that does not mean necessarily that the new single would do as well

But that means radio is actually playing the new single, which means that it has actually some amount of airplay value. If the radio stations don't want to play the new single, they won't just suddenly stop playing MR? Those radio stations play MR because they think there is still an audience for it, and if they do stop playing it it's because they felt that nobody wants to listen to it anymore, or that they actually want to play the new single.

Obviously the new single will have to get at least some standard airplay for that to happen. But I never disagreed with that.I said that the new single will most likely not reach the high airplay that MR did. Why? 1)MR despite bein liked by the GP needed TONES of live performances and promo for the radio to start playing it.Gaga is not an artist that is being supported by the radio anymore 2)Most of Joanne sounds really dated. The fan favourite songs are songs that sound like her 2011 songs but more simple and less creative and interesting. The rest of the tracks (that are more interesting) could never be played on the radio in 2016.. MR is the only actual hit on the album and there is no reason to risk its longevity for another single that has no real potential.

But that's your opinion? Many people do think that there is potential, and maybe that's not a good reason but I don't see why I should take your word for it. You also seemed to only be considering the songs that you find interesting, but when it comes to singles it always about comes down to the GP's taste, not what you like personally. And I do think that there is something in Joanne that the GP can enjoy. It has been debated many times before, but I do realise that I always have more facts backing my opinion up.

It'd be cool but if she didn't release John Wayne as single after the SB I don't think she will release anything else after Coachella

I mean we are all expressing our opinions here ,aren't we? I am not here to force you to adopt my opinion,I am just explaining my point of view.

Personally I don't like any songs in Joanne anymore. I called "interesting" the tracks that I find to have some real personality and have an actual direction and aren't simply trying to combine the old Gaga sound with a new country inspired production. I do think, for example, that Angel Down and Hey Girl are interesting tracks. But it is so obvious that the general public would not enjoy them. The only song that I find to be both interesting-well written and general public friendly is MR that is already a hit.

Stephen

It would be cool if she premiered DIC at Coachella and then dropped a sexy video.

Coachella is closer day by day and there's still no 3rd single.

Sad, considering that songs which deserved that treatment, didn't get it, while songs that should've been 'case B' became singles.

I'm starting to deal with it that I won't witness a DIC video.

yeah but at this point I think she gave us the John Wayne music video just to give us something so that she couldn't feel bad about not releasing a third single:giveup:

Sis there's still the next couple of days you never know she might pull a JW pt2 and drop a video plus make it a single :diane:

Does she even need a third single?

The album has sold well and her tour is sold out.  It seems like a waste of time and resources to have another single.

I could see Gaga releasing one more music video for the fans.

3rd single if successful means more sales lol

Artists release 4 and 5 singles to raise their sales

1989 by TS sold 10M copies as it had 7 singles and sales increase each time one of them become a hit that's how it's been working since the start of music history lol
