i know a lot of joanne stans are probably gonna come after me for this, listen first.

i don't think it's a bad album, i like it. it's very different than her edm pop style she's known for, and yes it's because she's obviously growing up and maturing and experimenting.

but the way it's being marketed so far, with little-to-no promotion, i really don't see it taking off. i really want gaga to stay on top of the game and charts, but they need to get their act together and release another single. first, to announce a new single dropping, tease which song it'll be, promote it, then release it AND a dope music video for it.

i don't know too many people that have even heard of gaga's new album. ++ look how many views john wayne got on youtube. :interestinga::interestinga:

it's really difficult though because she's super busy right now with asib, but hopefully a new single gets dropped before coachella, like DIC, because that's a really good spring break/summer/coachella bop, and i can see it on the radio stations.

like i just heard MR on the radio for the first time last week and it's been out for 6 months. i don't know, maybe i don't listen to the radio often enough, but i really don't see this album taking the chart-topping path as of right now. :giveup:

It's doing great for an album that hasn't been promoted much. Sold over 500k pure copies, and over 1.3M with SPS, MR went number 4 and went Plat in a market where streaming is all the rage and vs younger more radio-friendly artists.

Get over gaga ever being (brilliantly) successful and admit she peaked with BTW and you will lead a much happier and peaceful life.

Inb4 all the little joannsters drag you to the PITS!

I personally don't care for Joanne, and it's lack of chart performance hasn't surprised me. It's not exciting to most imo.

Boring thread.
It's a successful album.

PS-. ARTPOP is her worst piece of work.
PS2-. RedOne is a fad.

I feel like I've time traveled to September reading this title.:madge: Like...it's been almost half a year, it topped the BB 200, it's had its second wind with the Super Bowl, and overall its done fine so far.

REALITY

I think it's a great album too—probably my favorite along with Born This Way—but honestly, I don't see it becoming mega successful. That being said, it's doing well, and I think that overall, it's not a 'flop'.

I just want to say though, for future reference, don't expect Gaga to be the uber-successful pop star she once was. I'm not saying that it's impossible, or that it's not going to happen, but I just think it's unlikely. It's obvious that she wasn't looking for gigantic commercial success with Joanne, and that's completely fine. If she did, she would have made a more pop album, with perhaps more of today's influences.
