People shouldn't be so harsh on the snippets though, it might not be that bad, but so far only Love Without Tragedy sounds good.

It doesn't really sound like she progressed much from TTT which is sad but not unexpected from an artiste like her

And my 3000th post was in a thread about Rihanna, what a waste :smh:

I think its a progression from TTT. The only relation is the underlying theme of annoyance with tabloid gossip and judgement. Sonically I suppose you could argue its a typical Rihanna record but for me personally shes like the urban Britney Spears. Their music is pure pop.

This

Don't pay attention...Let them hate like true Gaga stans, the only thing they'll get back in the end is hate

Why do people act like other fanbases aren't equally childish and abrasive?

It doesn't strike me as an obvious progression or difference though like from GGGB to Rated R to Loud, where the difference was clear. So far Unapologetic just sounds like a slight more dancey TTT

You think so? I feel like Loud and TTT were a lot more closely related sonically. This album seems more polished than TTT and a little less rushed. Of course these are just snippets.

She decited to go more R&B and hip-hop...I was expecting something rocky but whatever :emo:... the snippets sounds very good I can't wait to hear the full album :legend:

If anything its dance version of Rated R. TTT was about s-x. Every song was about s-x. There is little to no songs solely about s-x on here. The songs sound like they are Rated R outtakes. The last half especially. But CB being on there runs it.

The album as whole sounds like a weird fusion of her older albums, The Weeknd's Echoes of Silence and Kanye West Presents G.O.O.D. Music. I can't tell if it's good or bad yet, but it's a step up from TTT.

Tracks I see being singles:

Right Now (it's a Guetta track FFS, this is practically a given)

Love Without Tragedy/Mother Mary (hope so, sounds like one of the album's gems tbh)

What Now (pretty good, brings me back to GGGB and A Girl Like Me)

Numb

Tracks that sound good, but I don't see as singles:

Lost In Paradise

Stay

Nobody's Business (I want to hate it so bad but I THAT BEAT. :omg: )

The ones I didn't mentioned weren't worth it tbh.

EDIT: Forgot the rest of the snippets.

Half of Me: At least it doesn't sound like Part of Me :flop: reminds me a bit of Cold Case Love, actually, but a little on the soft side.

Aaaand the rest of the snippets got cut as I typed this. Awesome.

Yeah I can agree with this to some extent. I feel as though TTT's focus was on exploiting overt s-xuality for the sake of exploiting overt s-xuality. This album seems at least a little more introspective, of course nowhere near as serious as Rated R tried to be.

Even if it was flawless you guys would say its **** though

I have 40 Rihanna songs on my iPod - all of which I've personally paid for. I'm not going to hate her material for no reason. She annoys me, yes, but her music is usually on-point. TTT was a disappointment and I was hoping (not expecting) that she would improve with this album. But it doesn't sound like she did IMO.

I'll give the full tracks a listen when they're released.

Nobody's Business is giving me 90s r&b vibes and I'm loving it. Unsure of the other tracks at the moment though.
