The reason Gaga isn't big on streaming services is because young people are generally more inclined to use those services and Gaga just isn't popular with young people anymore. She hasn't been cool since 2011. So unfortunately I don't think it bodes well for her in terms of commercial success...but she could easily have a hit song if she wanted one. People won't care if a song is by Lady Gaga as long as they like what they hear.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

I wasn't talking about her. Reality TV and YouTube made it easy for any average Joe to be famous for 15 minutes.

Man this stinks for Gaga's stats. Oh well though.

As long as her team does not make any effort in trying to make her a bit of a streaming force then I won't bother either.

Just enjoy the music guys and forget about stats too much. Great numbers are fun but with Gaga we won't be getting too much of that anymore so let's just enjoy the important stuff a.k.a the music.

Okay that's good and all but where is this money going? Because it's certainly not going into the pockets of the artists. Which is fine if you're someone like Drake or Ed Sheeran who is wildly successful and therefore sees some revenue, but if you're an indie artist then you're screwed. Hopefully now that streaming is pulling in real money, it can start to benefit the people that actually matter too - the artists.

This is awful, people just dont know anymore the feeling it is to unseal a new CD or vinyl and play it on your high quality setup. Do they care about music, or just commercial audio?

This is so true. Being a generation X'er, I remember buying a brand new vinyl, CD, cassette (or the occasional 8-track) after waiting for it, and it was amazing. Actually touching a physical piece of recorded music, unwrapping it and playing the album front to back while reading the lyrics on the inner sleeves of the record while I played it. Rarely even the It was a whole experience with the art, not so immediate, accessible and forgettable.

Sis, do your homework: there was a fun album full of high energy bops called ARTPOP

that was supposed to be the "sister of TFM" and look how it did: it was both a critical and commercial disappointment. Joanne has been better received and will outsell it eventually.

Sis, she labeled it as "sister of TFM" just to hype us and sell it better. It's more like adopted sister.

There's nothing similar between them. Her vocal delivery on some songs is weak, production on some songs is flat and let's not talk about cringy lyrics. That's why it underperformed. If it was something similar to The Fame Monster, honey it would SLAY

Gaga has to follow her guts, that's how she'll keep being successful.

This is such a stupid excuse for Gaga releasing uneventful, bland and boring music.

Once when she will return to fun, good quality pop music she will be big again. And no, I am not thinking that she should follow these new trends because this new pop music is bad.

Just Dance still sounds better and more futuristic than anything what is played on the radio.

I wasn't serious, of course.

That said, I disagree that her new music is "uneventful, bland and boring". But, I do agree that she has moved in a direction that is neither trendy nor forward pop music.

3 points in and ready for more
