Girl, she could've released the most radio friendly pop bop anthem in 2014 and the GP still wouldn't have been there for it. It had nothing to do with the music. Her career revitalization from C2C onwards was needed and paid and continues to pay off.

This could not be more true!

I don't understand why so many people forget about how damaged her image was from the BTW and ARTPOP eras. C2C and onwards was a much needed pallet cleanser for her image.

Every single pop star has ups and downs in commercial success.

Some stars just get stuck in the down trend, aka Christina Aguilera or artists like that.

Others like Gaga, Rihanna, Katy have ups and downs but always know how to rebound.

I have my doubts. Applause got pretty good call-out scores on radio, so her image wasn't that tarnished with the pop audience.

but I definitely think 2014-2017 has gotten Gaga much closer to legend status. Any chance for grammy noms with The Cure?

Agree. Oscar's showings, SB showings, and jazz / vocal-focused era have really put her on a new level now that she's back in the pop sphere on radio. Definitely new respect.

MR sealed the deal in showing how versatile she is, doing it at SB halftime was brilliant. Now she can release a song like The Cure, but still have the credibility from what she has done in late 2014 until now.

Plus AHS was a good move, it paved the way for ASIB which could be a nice resume booster for her.
