I guess it would make more sense around the winter/Christmas time, by a fire, when you’re feeling lonely and regretful of all your “sins”, but that’s just not the place where I’m at in my life right now. Nevertheless, this song was extremly well done and there’s even some criativity to its jazz inspired instrumental and must be a gem for the hopeless romantics. - @Johny Wayne I always think of Fall when I hear it - @hausoffame It's not bad, just not a highlight. What I appreciate and love this album so much for is the cohesiveness of it, every track here sticks to the theme, production and the whole sonic vibe is similar throughout the record, but every track still manages to shine in it's own way and be different from the rest. What I'm not getting from I'd Rather Be Your Lover is the uniqueness. It fits the album perfectly, similar production, vocals, instrumentation, but the key element that makes the other songs more interesting is missing here. Still a gem though - @Antonio This song and all is imagery is magnificent. The use of her body parts to help her convey a message of sadness and feelings is very smart. Truly a great song with outstanding lyrics. -@shoful A sorrowful and poetic ballad. I always liked her ballads and this is not an exception. It's not a radio friendly ballad like Ghosstown but it has an enchanting aura. It's a song that can be appreciated mostly by her hardcore fans. - @Dr Evil The album's ballad moment. Overtime, it became one of her most memorable ballads, with a heartbreaking chorus that appealed to even the coldest of people.
