These ramming attacks really started back in 2006 in the US (UNC at Chapel Hill) and in 2008 in Israel. These attacks have grown from there over the past decade. The risk of these types of attacks may significantly rise after the mass adoption of self-driving cars, which could potentially also be loaded with explosives and used as bombs. Scary to think about! Scary to think about! Yeah they tried it in Paris few months ago but it failed. They charged a car with gaz bottles, they planned to shoot on it to make it explode. Luckily, some people noticed it !
