This doesn't mean flop. I mean something that has underperformed expectations

Chained to the Rhythm

Katy's lead single debuted at number 4 and then spent one more week in the Top 10 before falling out of it. Katy's three previous lead singles all went number 1 and it looks like CTTR won't ever peak higher than #4. The song currently sits at #19 on iTunes and #10 on radio  (via Kworb). While any B list singer like Demi would celebrate with this kind of performance, this is sub-par for Katy.

Green Light

Lorde's comeback was really a toss up. She was major in 2013/2014, but has waited quite a while to release new music. after debuting at #100 because of a few hours of sales and streams and a few days of radio, Lorde's Green Light really debuted at #19 the next week. It was a debut even lower than Britney's "Make Me". Green Light is currently #58 on iTunes and #64 on radio. Can the song grow? not likely, it doesn't have the momentum.

Beauty and the Beast

The soundtrack song for the movie of the same name had a lot to live up to. Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson's version peaked at #9. Ariana and John Legend's version peaked at #87 and has spent one week on the chart before being knocked out .This week on movie release week the song only sits at #86 on iTunes. The song is beautiful, so its odd its not doing better.

Everyday

Everyday is the follow up to Ariana Grande's international smash hit "Side to Side". The song reignited the Dangerous Woman era, and it seemed like a follow up single would have promise. However, after a month on the chart, it seems like Everyday is reversing course. The song has fallen on iTunes, even with a discount. The song is also losing airplay on all formats and is number #66 on radio,

Slide

After Calvin's big hit with Rihanna, one would expect a song by Calvin to be a hit. Especially one that features Frank Ocean and Migos. The song sits at #66 on iTunes. The song isn't even in the top 75 of radio.

Swalla

Jason Derulo, king of getting hits but not selling albums, has released his new lead single "Swalla" with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. The song has yet to even chart. For a lead single from a guy that has plenty of top 10 hits and features the girl who's booty dropped, its odd that it hasn't even charted.

I'm A Lady

This soundtrack song from the upcoming Smurfs movie by Meghan Trainor has yet to chart. The song was sent to radio and had a music video released. Some have argued that its a sound track song and we shouldn't expect much. Well tell that to Just Like Fire and Can't Stop the Feeling. Meghan was a high charting artist, so for this song to not even chart...

CTTR is #3 on WW itunes for like 10 days

that's not underperforming

this is a focus on the US, and underperformance doesn't mean flop

compared to her last lead single, its an underperformance.

I have never heard of these options:

Slide - Calvin Harris (feat. Frank Ocean Migos)

Swalla - Jason Derulo (feat. Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign)

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

This song literally hasn't charted anywhere. It's the biggest flop in a while from a major artist.

I thought Lorde would be doing better, like she had an awesome debut and usually after the debut the second album lead does well doesn't it? Gaga's did, Katy's did, Ariana Grande's did, Meghan Trainor's did, and probably loads more so I expected her to too

Can I just say that the WW iTunes chart is innacurate and doesn't really show how much a song is selling, but in how many countries and how high it is charting

Also, Beauty and the Beast flopping isn't really that much of a surprise, it's known that the original song is light-years ahead it :emma:

Green Light, Slide, Swalla all need more time to measure success. Not everything is an instant hit and these songs could grow on the charts. The rest are probably doomed. CTTR was a success despite being an awful song (imo) - #4 is good. Im A Lady is a certified flop. Everyday may have underperformed but it's still like the last single of the era so there was never much hype for it anyway.
