Better Album: ARTPOP or Joanne

ARTPOP is a better album for sure. Joanne is just meh, it's my least favorite Gaga album. The album is so boring, there's only one good song on it, Million Reasons. The rest of the songs are terrible. While ARTPOP has more high points than low points, and even has some memorable parts. Great songs.

I love Joanne for its more laid back sound, and that it makes Gaga happy, but I voted ARTPOP because it inspired my creative freedom

Of course ARTPOP. Yes, there are some bad/extra tracks but c'mon, it is full of wild ideas and ambition that Joanne doesn't have.

ARTPOP was more addictive to me as a 18 years old but now that I'm 22 I feel like Joanne is more the album for me.

I used to love CRAZY and LOUD music and now I can't really stand it (except for DWUW and Applause)

I matured a lot since then and I feel like Joanne is the right album for me right now.

It's not the best, I don't listen to most it from like the beginning. But some of its tracks are truly amazing - PI, MR, DIC, some are not addictive but nice to listen to sometimes.

I voted Joanne but I don't think it's "better". I think each album defines a different time in her life and I relate in the same way.

Born This Way was THE album for me when I was 17 - when I had to struggle with being in the closet. just another example. It still is her best album in my opinion.

I love both. But ARTPOP songs are so unique and iconic, they're like an explosion of pink glitter with Jeff Koons Balls, they gorgeous, is my favorite album.  While Joanne is more mature, with a more simple vibe, it has some boring songs but some great songs, still I love every Gaga album. 

I voted ARTPOP as a whole/concept.

Ooo that's a fun question. If you're judging the album as the sum of its parts then ARTPOP might win that one. Certain songs on that record are all-time highs, like Gypsy, ARTPOP, Aura, Applause. There's no song on Joanne that peaks above ARTPOP's peak, though Perfect Illusion comes close.

Judge them as a body of work though, and Joanne takes the cake. It connects its pieces better, and has no real dips. Joanne might not hit the Gaga zeitgeist the way ARTPOP did at times, but nothing on Joanne ranks lower than a B. There are some Fs and D-minuses on ARTPOP though. Joanne is something I can sit and listen to all the way through without bothering the skip button, whereas I can easily shave off half of ARTPOP's tracks and be left with an 8 song EP that completely dwarfs The Fame Monster.

Short answer: Joanne as a full album, or ARTPOP if you condensed it into an EP.
