Why dont we just accept that pure sales are going to be low but have it still be the only factor for chart positioning. Deflated numbers in sales goes across the board for all artists, so if sales are down, every artist with still sell the same in relation to one another by ratio, the total number will just be down. Sales are still decent. not really, sales ARE low, ew's "record-breaking" album sold almost as much as what ARTPOP sold in the first week in the US (pure sales that is) yet ARTPOP was called a flop while his is being praised.
