Sorry but on here (GGD) it is overrated. That album is a mess and it is true.

AND...

"I  just realized that I can't stand listening to TFM as I force myself to finish Teeth, DIDT and Monster. I never know why this is so appreciated around here.

The Fame is good but sounds dated and it as alot of fillers."

Gurl... saying that AP is better than those 2? Bye.

Considering it's her best album, well, it is. :trollga:

I can't listen to the Fame easily as other albums. BTW sounds fresh compared to its predecessors. ARTPOP is my jam tho :lolly:

Daenerys

I will forever Stan ARTPOP, the little album that could have been. I get your opinion on the rest of the album. I barely like half of the Fame, after poker face I just skip to Paper Gangsta then stop the album.

The Fame Monster I love to listen to but I just have to be in a certain mood (even then I skip the last track because I can't stand it)

Born This Way slays. The whole era was so perfect. It's hard to say which is a favorite because I love BTW and ARTPOP to death but all things considered, I still listen to ARTPOP daily and have a sleeve tattoo inspired by ARTPOP that I've kept adding through the years since it's "ideas" came into fruition the year before the album release.

Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen

ARTPOP is my favourite gaga album, with The Fame coming in second place.

p.s I can't at all this Teeth hate :neyde::madge:. It's the second best song on TFM after SHICD :lolly:

ARTPOP is literally the least cohesive album. Born This Way is the most cohesive.

I beg to differ. I love BTW but it's all over the place.

The fillers really started in the ARTPOP era.

Actually they started with The Fame. Half of the album is fillers :trollga:

Bette Davis

ARTPOP is a schizophrenic, grinding mess full of fillers. Perhaps if the tracklist had been edited down like this and been produced by one cohesive, seasoned producer, then I would have loved the album.

1. Aura

2. Venus

3. G.U.Y.

4. Sexxx Dreams

5. Do What U Want feat. Christina Aguilera

6. ARTPOP

7. I Wanna Be With You

8. Gypsy

9. Applause

10. Brooklyn Nights

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

ARTPOP IS INCREDIBLE

I mean, even my dad loves it and it's hard to get him to like the music I listen to. When I told him that there wasn't a good chance for ARTPOP Act II, he was actually really bummed out. :deadbanana:

I think part of the reason ARTPOP didn’t perform well in the USA is because it was during the time people had Gaga fatigue, which, is her slight pretentiousness with pop music being art and she was trying too hard with ARTPOP in the sense she wanted a new sound for the 2010s and thought she could have an album full of fresh hot singles. I also think that people expect her new album to transform them into a state of pure ecstasy or some other crazy high expectation. Gaga has been harshly critiqued by the public since she blew up way too much with fame and fame monster and then had a stupid cult with born this way., born this way is a terrible song and the singles suck.. I like the orchestra tracks she had.. she always does well with dark pop.. that’s her bread and butter. Now to ARTPOP, it’s a decent album but she never should have had applause as a single because from my perspective it was just a mess in the beginning with a generic repeating annoying chorus.. she should have opened with do what you want and never should had worked with R Kelly even though he sounds great but he’s controversial with being a sex predator and to top it off the song was highly suggesting sexual abuse but it would have been a hit starting and blow up if there’s no r kelly dirtying her reputation. Then I think she should have been bold and release Mary Jane Holland.. that was a great experimental song that could have at least the edm crowd living for it. I personally like GUY but it didn’t perform well but she already lost interest from people at that point. I’m just glad she didn’t actually release Venus as a single.. it would have made her situation even worse. Anyways, there wasn’t a good set list for singles and the album itself was experimental w/o an actual theme and she ****ed up by making it about the art inside of her unconscious mind and tried too hard to set ARTPOP as a creative artistic album and she thought it was superior to other pop music. However, like I said before I think it was a decent album with some great tracks that should have been the main focus.. she was also getting dropped by everyone at the time which makes me think she had rotten eggs in her group purposely sabotaging her. Idk if that’s true or not but there’s no reason ARTPOP should have been considered a flop since it did great in other countries especially japan

ARTPOP is a great album. All of her albums have something special about them. It just went a bit tits up when Gagas management left and then the whole DWYW vs Venus as a single. I have to say though that DOPE is a song I really can’t stand. I know some fans love it which is great but I think it sounds really bad. Really cringe and she sounds kinda drunk. It just doesn’t connect so well with the other tracks. I would of loved Brooklyn Nights to be replaced by it. Or even the original version of DOPE that she played at the iTunes festival. Album highlights have to be Venus, MJH, Fashion!, DWYW, Swine and Applause.

I listened to ARTPOP a few days ago and it really gives a message. It's like a better version of Witness (lyrically). Both productions are messy. Applause did good but was overshadowed by "Roar". This shows the gp likes simple pop songs.. Do What U Want did decent and then her manager left her and the era felt dead. Then she released G.U.Y. but it failed to peak the top 70:ohwell: With good promotion it could've hit top 30 at least:derpga: Joanne did probably even worse because there was barely any hype but the album felt very authentic and it was definitely better than ARTPOP. ARTPOP felt forced to get hits while it didn't work. Joanne felt like "Idgaf about the charts anymore, it's about the music and one day you'll release the art of my work" and it happened. Now it's time for Gaga to release smashes the coming decades:staymad:

ARTPOP was the album of opportunities. The label ruined it for Gaga by making her make it "more relatable" (the change of I Wanna Be With You to Dope, for instance). The released album is clustered with fillers and meaningless songs (Jewels & Drugs??) :rip:

I think it was in a Howard Stern interview that Gaga talked about how the label was so interested in "the ballad" but never referred to it by name. It so annoyed her that she thought "I'll give you a ****ing ballad" and changed _I Wanna Be With You_ to _Dope_.
