Well I can explain that in 2 parts. 

1- US is not a nation state, you can become American. But European countries are nation states. A Turk cannot become a Frenchman or a German, no matter what, they will still be a Turk. 

2- Now read this topic from start to end. Turks have historically been enemy of the Europe, whether it is admitted or not; you will see that even in this topic. Human rights in Turkey are better than Armenia, have you heard anyone on this forum criticizing dictatorship of Armenia ? No ! Exactly, my point. Or have you seen people criticizing Azerbaijan in that sense ? No !

There is an antipathy towards Turkey and Turks stemming from historical fear of Turkish Empire, whether you say it out loud or not, people act upon it, notice it subconsciously. 

Noticing this leads to feeling of alienation. Those are also the factors why Turks are super nationalistic, therefore emigre turks stay loyal to Turkey instead of their host country. You can alienate people and expect them to assimilate. They read newspapers and constantly see Turkey being alienated but human psychology isn't so simple. If I say bad things about Gaga here, people will defend her more fervently, that's the case with Turks and Turkey. 

Also Turkish immigrants did not spend helluva effort to come Central Europe or anything, all those countries had booming economies but insufficient work force so they come with their work permits already ready. They did not have to put effort into assimilating to fit in. 

not entirely true. for instance if  a Turk immigrated to the Netherlands, they'll get a dutch passport and nationality once they have followed a certain procedure and a "Turk" born in the Netherlands, is not a Turk but a Dutch citizen. I can't say this for all EU countries, both the Netherlands and Germany have similar policies in regards to immigration and nationality:

1. It's not an excuse; it's legal according to international law. The Turkish minister of family is not a diplomat and thus has no immunity. She was considered a persona non grata before entering the Netherlands, which

2. The Turkish minister broke the law by bringing guns from Germany without permission. 

3. The Turkish minister misled the Dutch government by splitting up cars and entering on different roads in different cars at the same time, so she wouldn't be caught. Furthermore instead of trying to help deescalate the protests, which were bound to end badly, they asked Dutch Turks people on Turkish media to get on the streets and protest.

4. The protestors broke glasses, attacked police and protested at the wrong place. That's not peaceful. A peaceful protest can exist too!

5. Russia is called out on their human rights abuses all the time. The Russian involvement in Syria is often criticized and everyone knows how backwards the Russian government is. Turkey is no different for an aspirant-EU-member. They are actually given more room to do what they want it seems. Turkey is not historically an enemy of the EU, only 13 years ago most supported having Turkey join the EU.

6. People can become 'Dutch', it's called integrating. You can be muslim and Dutch, you just have to speak Dutch and feel Dutch
