The Turkish minister did not have the right to enter the Netherlands and the most shameful thing here is that they tried to deescalate things on purpose. They live in the NL, they work in the NL, they use the social welfare etc, so why can't they be loyal to the country that gave them all of that? So what ? Turkey is more undemocratic means that Netherlands can pass being undemocratic at certain circumstances but Turkey not, who sets the limit ? Netherlands is a nation state, no matter what generation they will stay as Turks. Also those people are children of the lesser educated migrants who sought opportunity as unskilled workforce in Central Europe. Education is a family culture as much as it is a social institution. Lesser educated is always easier to manipulate. This combined with the fact that Turks are overtly nationalistic, you can see that situation is pretty normal. You can't define a group of immigrants as aliens after I don't know how many generations, and expect their loyalty, they are paid what they work, they do not owe anything. However, I firmly believe that my country had the right to deny these Turkish ministers access to the country. Seeing as they were allowed to speak in the Netherlands first, but then the Turkish minister threatened my country on Turkish TV with economic and political sanctions if he was denied access, then he shouldn't be so surprised that the Dutch government revoked his landing rights in response. Now they're acting like we're at fault here while it's the other way around. All these riots on the streets now because of this. It's certain that no matter how long certain (not all) Turkish Dutch people have lived here or were even born here, they will always be loyal to Turkey first. I totally agree Minister Kaya was in the wrong, Turkey did not get an okay from the Netherlands, and they think they can undermine our verdict. F*ck them. It's sad, but a lot of Dutch Turks think Erdogan is going too far, that's why the demonstrations are fairly small in general. According to Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, Turkish Diplomats have right to do such gatherings for Turkish Citizens. This has been done many times before. Netherlands violated international agreements, it is normal that Turkey reacts this way. Also wtf, do you you really think that Turkey started reacting out of nowhere because Netherlands breached international agreements ? Come to your senses... And no, your country doesn't have right to deny Turkish ministers' speaking to Turkish citizens, that is called diplomatic immunity. Get informed, Netherlands breached Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, you cannot revoke access to embassy or refuse a minister talking to their citizens... Reason why Netherlands cite "security" as the threat is this because there is no legitimate excuse for them to take such action and breach international agreements. We all know the real reason Netherlands breached international agreements is that ruling party is scared to lose PVV so they want to keep right wing votes by pretending not to allow Turkey do such things they did million times before. Turkish political rallies filled up arenas in Germany etc countless times before... The nerve of ignorance is unbelievable. Saudi Arabia executes gays for examples, Russia jails gays for gay propaganda, you cannot block their diplomats either.
