If Gaga delivered disco, it would be a match made in heaven. What other genre would she need to have covered in the LG6 era if not disco? That's like the only one left right now. I NEED IT. Oh and for anyone craving a disco bop, Steps is gonna release an album full of them soon. Their song "Scared of the Dark" is like classic Abba/Steps disco. I've said disco so many times da fuq. Disco. She could reinvent pop music again just like she did with The Fame. I just, if she doesn't do Disco at some point, it would be a crime against humanity tbh. Ricardo 7,866 Posted March 10, 2017 Share Posted March 10, 2017 LG5 was supposed to be disco, everyone knows that, she was working with Giorgio and Rogers but it got scrapped, when I saw she was working with Mark I thought maybe she's going funk because of his previous work with Bruno but we see how everything turned out, we got Joanne so I doubt Gaga would go back, disco is a genre she already explored and apparently seems she think it didn't work out for her if not we would have gotten the original LG5, it's hard to think for LG6 she would go back and use all her scrapped songs, she's nothing like that, expect a metal sound for the next album Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

As for the metal stuff, I don't see her releasing her major pop album as just metal (unless it were a side project). It would have obvious pop rock influences (and disco/funk mesh well with rock) as well as classic rock. We will have to see, but I wouldn't count out the possibility all together just because she didn't use it on her past release. Remember, she said in an interview that she abandoned the other concepts because Mark and QuestLove (I think?) suggested that she do the "stripped back album everyone was waiting for". Not of course with funk but definetely mixed with rock leaning towards the 80s disco sound. However, I also think it´s unlikely since she wants to explore other genres mixed with pop like she did with Joanne. Um, there are a few flaws in your comment. For one, The Fame didn't actually explore the sound of disco as much as fans on here like to say. Some of the instrumentals, yes, but not the actual disco genre. Secondly, Disco was popular in the 70's and ushered in the era of 80's pop and electronic music, it should not be confused or noted that Disco isn't 80's. Thirdly, I don't want to cause controversy by implying this, but the sound of Joanne isn't exactly experimental or uncharted; folk Americana pop music has been done for decades; the only difference is that it's not popular right now. Who knows what the sound of pop music will be in a few years? Perhaps Gaga ushering in a new wave of disco and electronic pop music could be beneficial to the state of the music industry. That's all.
