I remember thoroughly at some point it being rather well known that Aura and Burqa were two completely different songs, and this thread is going to be a giant atomic bomb if we don't have it settled.

So do either of you know or have confirmation if the songs were two completely different songs or not?

Pretty sure it was the same song, with vastly different lyrics.

Gaga had written something potentially controversial enough to make certain radical sections of the Middle East angrier with her than they already were, and Mr. G wasn't cool with having his daughter as a potential hit on their hit list of AntiChrists.

Now this is from over 4 year old memory here, so I could be wrong.

So that Gaga wouldn't inadvertently piss off ISIL , they changed the lyrics from something more controversial, to something less controversial.

But don't take it as 100% legit just because I as a mod said it. No one knows for sure unless they get it straight from Gaga's mouth or a representative's mouth, or Mr. G himself.

I kind of think Mr. G might have said it in an interview once, but again, I'm remembering 4 years back now.

It wasn't Emma. It was Emma's slightly blabbermouth best friend who leaked it to members of the community that it was Gaga herself. 

I don't recall that it was Emma who called out Gaga as doing it, but again, this was 4 years ago and my memory isn't perfect.
