highbythebeach 2,475
I feel like no one is taking risks any more in music like Gaga did and taking risks is probably the biggest hing that helped her career. I don't know is what it is about the vocals and the instrument but no other song make me get up and dance like bad romance does

Everything about it was just so over the top, deeply weird. Lyrics, vocals, the ****ing music video, performances, outfits...i perfectly remember when i first heard it; i was like 'i've never heard something like this before'. It felt from another world. It was not just a pop song, it was an event; because it sounded surreal (and still does). Thanks god and gaga, it worked. But it could have gone wrong. Monster/DITD were much safer choices, but she still choose Bad Romance I think, if she had gone for Monster, rather than Bad Romance, we may have ended up with a very different pop star and different albums up to now. I think if the theatrics of the Bad Romance video hadn't of bled into Telephone and Alejandro, we then wouldn't have had Born This Way, at least not in the way we know it, because I don't think she would have been as 'out there' as she was. I could be wrong buts it weird and interesting to think about

The over the top outrageous style of Telephone and provocative style of Alejandro were direct results of Bad Romance, in terms of music videos. Bad Romance's musical legacy first showed up in Born This Way (album); it's almost like an evolution imo, without topping it, but without doubts a consequence of Bad Romance.
