If you really believe that CIA's only goal is to protect citizens then I really don't know what to say to you. Those documents leaked, good. But what about all the documents that did not leak ? I can't even imagine what it looks like behind the scenes and I just don't get how you can be so confident towards their role. Just go collect some informations about their missions right after WW2 and tell me how they are not a danger. If it was an insecure system, imagine the damage someone could do. Hell, someone could get credit card numbers. Celebrity nudes. Child ****. The power of this technology is immense. Imagine if there's some creep way up there in power. He could use this to spy on teenage girls changing in their rooms. CIA is an intelligence service of the United States federal government, tasked with gathering, processing and analyzing national security information from around the world. That's what they were doing with these tactics released in the leaked documents. They conduct espionage...it really isn't that difficult to understand. Who is in danger?
