Take from me, I love her and her mind, but arguing with her is just a dead end debate.

Oh, well, at least I know I haven't completely lost your respect. But actually, it's other people's attitudes to my arguments that bug me. They just drop it when they realise that things aren't going their way or they see some uncomfortable truth. So, my time's wasted and I wonder why I bother. Maybe it just feels good to let all the frustration out because there's literally no one else in my life who cares about my analysis of the music industry.

I care. Trust me. It's just that when others try to see your side and give their analysis, their opinion seems to be thrown to the side. I felt that way. And there were things that you said about race (I DON'T THINK SHE IS RACIST. SHE IS NOT RACIST JUST TO MAKE THIS CLEAR.) that personally hurt me. And I know you don't mean that but it comes off that way. That's why I said it's dead end debating.

And people have the nerve to call Beyoncé overrated?!

Somebody kill me now if all we have to look forward to is him in the charts forever!

People acting as if the album is a pure masterpiece, it's really only mediocre at best. His previous 2 efforts were so much better. Why is he so o-v-e-r-h-y-p-e-d :interestinga:

That's funny because I feel the exact same in reverse. It's very common for people to completely ignore whole areas of my posts and usually the best parts with the best evidence (which drives me round the twist). I take in other people's opinion, really I do, my opinion to counteract it isn't the same as tossing it aside. Why is it when the other person does it, it's acceptable but when I do it, I'm being obstructive? And I'm sorry if I've ever said anything about race that's inadvertently offended you but please understand that I'm treating everyone the same. I don't treat people any better because they're like or treat them any worse because they're different to me. If I think a person or their output is good, I'll say so and vice versa. I don't care if this artist is a highly respected legend - if they make a bad album, I'll say so. I don't care if an artist is barely successful and nobody likes them - if they make a good album, I'll say so. I listen without prejudice, always have. But so many people mistake equal treatment for unfair treatment merely because it's not the reception they want. I never got accused of racism for giving bad reviews to black artists until last year (and I was never called a racist or had white-based insults directed at me until last year either). Nowadays, there's a real sense of entitlement in the urban music scene among artists and fans. They truly believe that they're more deserving than anyone, that black people always make the best music in any given situation. That was when I knew that race relations needed a serious revamp and I started re-examining the way we're going about things in this day and age. Because something isn't connecting and our relations with one another are all the worse for it.

Beyoncé is backed by serious talent, but he is just like:

"GREAT THAT YOU LIKE ME,
BECAUSE I LIKE MYSELF VERY MUCH
".

His ego is in incredible :saladga:

@StrawberryBlond Where can I find your album reviews?? :excited2:

Well, I say reviews but I don't actually publish them anywhere online. I did put some on metacritic at first but I just don't have the time to do it anymore. And this is when I don't even have a job at the moment. I just listen to the album, form an opinion and maybe post something on a thread to do with it. If anyone asks me for a review of a particular album, I'd happily supply one, though. But as I  try to listen to albums from literally any name I recognise, there's a lot to do. So doing a full-on review for every album takes up too much time. I did do it back when I started doing this from 2010-2012, though. But yeah, if there's any album from the last few years that you'd be interested in hearing a review about, just let me know. I keep a book consisting of every album with a star rating and the best and worst tracks from each, so I can easily draw up something if called upon.

I'm confused why most of yall hate him?

Is it because you think he's ugly?

Is it because he pooped his pants that one time?

Is it because his ego has swollen over the years?

Is it because this is a gaga fansite and yall are mad he's more popular than her right now?

I mean, perhaps I'm biased, but I've always liked his music.  I like his voice, his writing style, and his musical productions.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's 'basic' or 'trash' or undeserving. Grow up, honestly, truly. You think his music is boring, maybe because you can't relate, but music doesn't need this huge message shrouded in mystery and meaning to be good or non-basic.

OT:

Listening right now, and so far it's very in line with his previous works, and his previous works have been good.
