gagagoogoose 30,952
This thread is inspired by Ed Sheeran's recent comments on an artist's creative independence vs what the people wants. I have noticed that a lot of you like the avant-garde era (The Fame Monster/ Born This Way). Gaga's career has been diverse (Cheek to Cheek/ Joanne) and she is known to be able to sing any genre of music. So I want to ask for your opinions. Which one do you guys prefer and why? P.S. What I meant by "Classic" is those avant-garde eras which are more recognized and remembered by the general public.

Twitter 14
Versatile because real talent can go to any genre and not be stuck in pop music like some of her competition.

gagzus 15,901
But she's been diverse her whole career? No two albums are the same genre, if you understand definiable genre differences it isn't which is also why I never got the The Fame/AP comparisons and claims of regression etc

YeehawKylie 7,817
I'll say classic. I actually don't mind her jazz side-project, but I like the thought of her remaining versatile within the pop genre. She showed versatility through TF/TFM, BTW, and ARTPOP. She kind of re-defined the pop genre and I like that and wish she'd continue to push pop boundaries. I don't think Joanne does that, while great in it's own right.
