Reasons why A-NO should not be the next single and DIC needs to shine.

1. Dancin' In Circles simply sounds more like a hit song. Sure, A-NO is a good song, but it doesn't have that "hit" fashion to it. The chorus of a song is very important and A-YO's chorus does not have enough grip to it with lack of instruments and/or backing vocals to truly make it catchy. Take a look of her performances of A-YO and you'll see that the chorus is improved much more than the studio version. (Edit: people are taking this the wrong way... YES, it is catchy, the hooks are great, but the hooks do not work well with the production in the song. Listen to her perform A-YO LIVE - that's when you'll hear the hooks working well to make it truly catchy because the production is excellent. The studio chorus just sounds like a block of flat sound and there is a lack of instrumental texture. A-YO is one of the only songs on Joanne with this issue.

2. It might not be good for the "Gaga" look. We can all agree that there was backlash against Gaga for taking a "country" route with Joanne and stripping back on her dark style that she had in the past for a more humanly album. We could even see this backlash with Million Reasons when it was a single and when we got the music video. Fortunately, the Super Bowl saved it because the Super Bowl was simply epic with the glitter costume and tons of lights to make Million Reasons truly feel like a "hit." A-YO will not have Super Bowl treatment, unfortunately, and I don't think the GP will attach to it. Dancin' In Circles sounds more like a traditional Gaga song and the music video could be like her old music videos. It would simply be better.

3. A-YO already got promotion in America! Dive Bar performances, Apple Music commerical, SNL, James Corden, etc ...! And it only peaked at like #66 on Billboard. This is great for just a promo single, but with that amount of promotion and comparing it to her past promo singles, this is not really good. So why make it a single when we know it will perform averagely?? It won't even break into the top 30.

4. A-YO would need lots of promotion to be a hit.... and do you really think Gaga is going to promote the next single (no matter what it's gonna be)? Her schedule is full of things like tour planning, rehearsals, ASIB, etc. She's not going to have a lot of time. Honestly, DIC would probably take less damage with lack of promotion because radios would find it cute, fans love it enough to actually request it, and it could do nicely on streaming. A-YO does not have this sort of effect. An amazing music video would not be enough (look at G.U.Y). DIC is a sexy song about masturbating so at least the music video could shock people enough to rewatch. A-YO does not have anything like that. With no promotion, there is nothing to stand on.

5. Dancin' In Circles could make for better TV performances! Once again, A-YO could fall into the "country" stereotype while Dancin' In Circles could be branded as Gaga's 'comeback.' A-YO is very upbeat and guitar-based, there's not tons of variety for TV performances. Dancin' In Circles is longer, slower and could open up lots of interesting concepts that the GP could be surprised or impressed by.

6. Dancin' In Circles is simply better and will be enjoyed by the GP more!

Anyone have more reasons to add to the list? I'm sorry A-YONATERS, y'all are over. :trollga:

A-YO isnt country and the GP like it. Its too early to release DIC. DIC would do amazing in the summer.

I was still hoping for JW to be the next single. The GP love John Wayne

With Gaga wearing a pink hat and rocking out with her guitar on TV singing about "southern gravy", the GP will definitely not like it

Can't wait for it to finally be released as a single and then flop for you all to stop with these threads.

When will you understand that nobody can predict how a single will do ?

Million Reasons will be the current single till may, cause its gaining very good radio updates and has stable sales. In may DIC could be the summer smash 2017... I see no potential for A-Yo being a summer single... And in spring MR will reign the charts...

When does she sing about "southern gravy"?:oprah:  All of my friends love A-YO, John Wayne, Perfect Illusion and Dancin' In Circles the most. A-YO is a smash, it just wasnt given the promo to shine

#3 is the only fact needed. A-YO has already had quite a few performances and it still hasn't really stuck. But I'm not that big on DIC being a single honestly. My main focus right now is that she keeps making videos for the songs she wants to, and then promoting songs she wants to promote, without declaring them as "singles" or not. And then from there she can see what people like and base things off of that regarding single status.

If she would release DIC today, it would just totally go under with all the other tropical songs.

DIC needs to stand out, and the summer is perfect for it.

A-YO is totally different from anything else on the radio, and it would work.

#AYOforThirdSingle :grr:

Even John Wayne would work and it already has a video.
