Gaga SB Google search volume

So after the Super Bowl I decided to use Google Trends to measure the volume of search activity triggered by each of the last 5 pop female Super Bowl halftime performances. In short, Gaga completely DOMINATED search activity when measured against her contemporaries. The only one even close is Beyonce, but her search volume is literally HALF the volume that Gaga received --- and that's for BOTH of Beyonce's Super Bowls!

Now, this does not imply Gaga is more "important" or more "relevant" but it does show just how massively INTERESTED people became in Gaga again afterward.

Here's a chart I made where each pop act's Super Bowl search peak is marked:

I have a few theories about "why" this may have occurred:

#1 - Gaga and her pop hits have been off most people's radar for the last few years. So when people heard those old bops again, they went running to their computers to stream/download/etc...

#2 - Gaga's political statements were so subtle most people missed them. So lots of folks probably went to rewatch to catch the politics and look closer.

#3 - Lots of people may have thought they didn't care about a Gaga half time and went to the bathroom, got food, etc... but when they heard about her slayage, had to get online and watch again for themselves.

#4 - Gaga destroyed that stage and everyone needed to see it again.

UPDATE: A MESS!!!!!!

I took that original screenshot like 2 days after the Super Bowl. But I just checked again and Google has changed the results!!! And Beyonce actually now shows more search volume! What in the illuminati hell kind of conspiracy!

Troy been messing with those Google metrics too, I see!

Also, her performance was praised by all sorts of different kinds of people. I am yet to encounter a person who was not amazed by what happened, and I have even asked some old Gaga haters what they thought.
