1. I'm annoyed he's vaguely referencing other artists in a negative light, why does it matter to him that they want creative control?

2. While i agree collaboration is important to craft a balanced, well made son or album, that does not always mean you fold when the label asks for something. The label is not always right and does not always have the collective album and its message or concept at heart (or even understand it).

3. If he pulled a song he liked solely to put a radio song on there, that's weak and that's not artistry. That is not compromise or collaboration, that is just catering to sales.

Everyone views him as such a relatable and "normal" guy but he has gone down so far in my estimation during this era. He's really just the epitome of why commercial music is gradually becoming less interesting. And it's a shame because he is talented.

Exactly, hitting the nail on the head here. I think artists should reserve the majority of creative control when it comes to their work but working with people who can give good advice and put their foot down when something just isn't right or good enough is good. However doing that in away that isn't to create the best thing you can, but to make the most money you can is bad and the way he's clearly talking about other artists is so slimy of him

That's very true, but given that the media has dragged Gaga on an international level for falling from her 2009-10 reign from BTW onwards, I think it's not entirely unreasonable to consider her.  It's far too familiar
